Try drinking a caffinated drink at the very onset of the migraine and then taking a couple of Advil. For preventative measures, you can try taking no-flush Niacin which you can buy in any health food store. This supposedly helps keep the blood vessels from constricting which is a common cause of migraines.

The only thing i know of to relieve a migraine is to go and lay down in a dark room with your eyes closed. I guess to prevent them you'd need to know what was causing them. I'm sure stress, being on a computer or watching TV (or doing something else to cause you eye strain) and hearing constant loud noises only make them worse, so try to avoid these, as well as any other specific triggers that you know can contribute to starting off the migraine.
In your case, try to keep your exposure to bright and/or strobing lights to a minimum. Make sure the brightness is adjusted on your minitor and that you don't have any bare bulbs showing in lamps and lights around the house (ie by using uplighters etc). Also maybe try having dimmer switches fitted, or using lower wattage light bulbs. Avoid going to supermarkets and other places where they have harsh stip type lighting.

Unless a qualified professional doctor and radiologist who both examined your CT scan results or MRI results (these tests are used to determine etymiologic causes of what a 'migraine' is), said you definitely suffer from migraines you should not assume you are. These are special kinds of headaches offset by imbalance of some particular chemical your body lacks or has too much of. There are also cluster headaches and tension headaches, both different from a classic 'migraine'.
For mine that were diagnosed as coming on before my cycle started, due to increase in Progesterone & Testosterone leaving thankfully estrogen alone, I get the 'migraine symptoms'--nausea, sensitivity to light and sound and ear ringing. I take Excedrin Migraine OR naturally use an herb called Feverfew or KavaKava, each does the required enlarging of the now-constricted blood vessels, the smallest the capillary, so I can feel less pressure up there. Lots of water and no sugary items or caffeine during a migraine, all it will do is intensify symptoms which are real and debilitating.
I hope I have helped and good luck to you,
sharing the light,
Erica
