Growing old on the island?

I think Richard is even older than that. In the first seen "little" Ben sees him in, he is wearing a much different outfit than we ever see him in, even at the end with the gas mask. I think Richard came to the Island on the boat with all the dynomite. Who knows how old that makes him, but it could be the survivors of that boat wreck didn't age becuase they were on the Island, and the Dharma group didn't know what to do with them. Just my two cents.

Looked him up on IMDB, his name on the show is Richard (Alpert). When I saw him I thought the same thing, "OMG thats THAT guy!!" amazing, maybe they have found the fountain of youth lol. I do think it has something to do with the healing properties of the island. They must age to a certain point and not get any "older" because Ben grew up from child to adult but hasnt seemed to age.

I understand what you are saying. It seems though that Ben aged faster then them all. He looks older then everyone else on the Island. The whole show tonight was weird. What's up with this Jacob thing? Freaky...

I don't remember his name either but you're absolutely correct. You age slower on the island. I also believe the longer you're on the island the slower you age. The other guy that stands out is Richard. He's the one who took off his mask first and the one who gave Locke the file on Sawyer (James). I want to know who these people are and why they went to the island. ‹(°¿°)›

I noticed that too. I couldn't believe Richard was the same guy as the man in the woods from Ben's childhood. It took me ages to cop on. A man can sure look different with a haircut and a change of clothes!

I know~!! Richard not aging just made the suspense of Lost even more unbearable! I have no idea how he stays young and good looking.. =P There's too much too comprehend with Jacob, Charlie, and 'The Others' coming to get them! Arghh.. Can't wait for next season!!
