Darts Finals Night....

It was my local League Darts Finals Night last night, and I was very proud to go along and support my lads. This was the first time we'd had anybody in the finals, and the first time I'd attended a final in this League. The boys were a bit overawed by the fact that they had to play on a raised platform, visible to the whole crowd, lol, but they handled it well. We had only entered the one competition... that was the men's doubles, and all four of the finalists were from my team. Not only did we bring the Winners and Runners Up Trophies back to the Eight Bells Pub, but my son also won the highest "In" shot of the season, with 160, so there was an extra one. All in all we had a good season. We ended up fourth in the league, and with those three trophies to bring back. I'm so proud of them. But, I'll have them on their toes next year to better their place in the league. ha ha ha. When I have to go away during the season they fall to pieces. They don't get a full team out and nine times out of ten, they'll lose their matches. This year, I avoided being away during the season, when there were darts games, and I kept them at it. That only goes to prove my point... they need a GOOD WOMAN behind them, with a big stick! ha ha ha.

Thank you very much, Lakota. I did feel a bit proud, bringing home five trophies, plus the two main trophies which we get to keep in the pub for a year. :-)

You're having us on are you not indeed. I'll bet your a big woman with a little stick lol. Thats why the pub is called the eight bells because you give them a right ding dong if they don't turn up. Have a nice winning season next time from Deeeky.

Let's just say they know not to get on the wrong side of me, by NOT turning up. Nobody's indispensible from my dart team. I offered the captaincy last year, and nobody would take it. They said they wanted me to stay and they'd be there every week. Well, three of the four who said they'd be there every week, have let me down on a couple of occasions, either by being late for their game, or not turning up, so, I've replaced them, and dropped them the following week. They soon see the error of their ways. :-) Some stay, some go, but there's nobody can't be replaced.

Thank you Gabs. The pub landlords are quite happy about having three trophies in the pub too. :-) Bless them... they do help us out a lot, free food and everything. Yes, don't I know about them needing a woman around to get them stirred up! lol. Thank you for your response, my friend. Love and hugs. x

Hey Kathy! You know me, by now, lol. I will certainly be behind them next season with my big stick, because they lapsed a bit after Christmas and instead of holding second place, and at worst, third, they ended up fourth. I'm going to have to tighten up a bit. ha ha ha. Thank you, I will tell my son what you said. He's my star player at the moment but the others are pretty good too. I just have to watch that they turn up. Brightest Blessings my friend, and thank you so much for your response.

well done to your team! I know what you mean by the lads needing a woman behind them to keep them focussed - the guys in the team where I work couldn't organise anything for themselves! Remember to keep them on the straight and narrow and don't miss any darts nights next season! xxx
