Grumpy. I am not a morning person at all. Do NOT wake me up - I will wake up myself. If you have to - do it very gently. I usualy only wake up about an hour or more after I got up. 2 cups of coffee, 2 sigarets, a shower and I barely start functioning. From noon to afternoon I get better and from afternoon till late I am rolling....

LOL Just because I'm up that doesn't mean I'm awake. Getting anything useful done most mornings is not fun.

I haven't gotten up early in the morning either for a long time, unless there's something urgent I have to do at an earlier hour...like you I rather wake myself up by myself...There's so many times when I know it's time for me to haul my butt out of bed..I look at the clock and think to myself...oh, just another few minutes..which usually turns into at least a half hour...

Yeah, my problem is - I have senior possition in a security bussiness and get called all hours of the night - so I'm in a bad mood most of the time. But it usualy gets better after the first nice row of the morning...lol

Oh I am a grump. I have to admit it, then I have my coffee feel a little better and get grumpy all over again with all the noise every morning outside my window. Do you condider yourself a morning person or a night person? I am a night person.

I too am most definitely a night owl. I sleep maybe
5 hours a day otherwise I get overtired with more than 5.

Oh, I'm definitely a night owl too...I don't go to bed as late or get up as late as I used to, but I still don't got to bed get up as early as most people..I've been known to go to bed around 5 or 6 in the morning, especially now that I have my own computer which I'm pretty much glued in front of all the time now

for me it depends how much sleep i have had my friend. If i have managed to get the full 8 hours (hardly ever manage this) im fine, i can even manage without coffee, lol. However, when I generally get by on 6 or less it takes me up to the 8 hours to fully recover and i can be terribly grumpy
blessed be

To be honest I can't remember the last time I had 8 hours sleep...I can more less function on only 4 to 6 hours sleep...and on occasion, not often had to deal with only two!

I need my cup of coffee first thing to get me started. Im not really grumpy just slow and quite. Then I progress into the house chores and I get motiavated. When I was younger like in my teens I was really grumpy and I would wake up late in the morning. Now I wake up altamatically at 6:30. And I never thought that would happen.LOL

LOL! I am a grump too. Can't do anything without a cup of tea. and quite slow for the first hour or so. Because my work starts at 6.30am, I do have to get up at 5.00am, and over the years I've got used to that because I need the work, but I am never keen and raring to go for the first hour of the day - whether it is 5.00am or a more normal 8.00am at weekends. I like to lie in bed for half an hour at least, and then go downstairs, have a cup of tea, and then a shower before I can start the day.

LOL! Actually no - to be honest. Remember I have 5 little fur babies, that hear the alarm and immediately come rushing in and demanding their breakfast! They are much more efficient than any alarm clock:-))

It all depends on whether I have had a decent night's sleep or not. Some mornings I am awake and up at 6am, full of energy and coffee :-) Other mornings, when I have had a bad night, I can't face hauling my sorry butt out from under the duvet.

I am usually a miserable, rotten, grump. Just ask my boyfriend. I think he ignores me for about an hour.lol. If I need to go somewhere I have to get up about two hours before I need to be there. It takes me awhile to motivate.

My grumpiness goes back to even when I was a kid---my mom would have to call me to get out of bed for school an hour earlier than necessary...since it took me that long to finally get my buns out of bed--LOL

I have to get up? Why? I don't want to. That's usually how I feel. I hate mornings and I hate getting up. I usually crawl out of bed. Forget leaping. I'd love to be able to leap at other times but not something for me anymore. I'm very slow moving when I get up; no matter what time of day but mornings are worse then evenings. Now that you mentioned coffee that sounds really good. Going to have to get me a cup.

When it's cold yes I agree it makes it harder all the way around. I hurt more so it's harder to struggle from the bed and then I also want to stay nice and warm.

Do you find winter time is worse...I do...lots of times there isn't enough heat on in our building and it's a bit chilly in the place...so here I am, all nice and snuggled in bed and it's like...oh, O don't wanna get up!

Most days I just jump out of bed when the alarm clock goes off, not because I am one of those people that can't wait to get the day started, but if I lay in bed trying to wake-up, it is a certainty that I will end up back to sleep in a heart beat, and than my husband will most likely end up late to work.
The only time I am ever grumpy is if sometime during the day, someone does something to tick me off, but that don't happen a lot.

Making sure my husband isn't late for work is a great motivator to get out of bed. I would feel bad if he lost his job, since in general I am his alarm clock. There have been a couple times though that I just didn't feel like getting out of bed, so he'd get pushed out of bed and I'd go back to sleep..hehe

I don't even like my cats looking at me when I first get up. I am definitely a big grouch in the mornings. But after I have had my shower and that first wonderful cup of caffeine, life is good and I am much more pleasant to be around. (Hubby won't even try to talk to me anymore first thing in the morning...he's been hit with too many flying objects! LOL

LOL! That reminds me of when my mom would try to wake me for school in the mornings, back than I didn't like getting up at 6 am sometimes 5am so I would end up throwing my pillow at her and telling her to go away.

I usually get out of bed straight away but only because I have to, to get an early start. I do feel much better after a cup of coffee and a read of the newspaper. By the time this happens it's 7 o'clock and time to start work.

My mother is a lark, my father was an owl. My sister is an owl & my brother is a lark. I got them both. I have trouble going to sleep at night, but when I wake up, I'm awake. I'm not going to say I'm happy, but I'm awake!
My neice (bro's daughter) is a grumpy morning person. She's better since she's grown up, but as a child, she was HORRID! I think my mother would've had to kill us if we'd been like that.

I'm definitely a slow starter. I have to lay in bed for a few minutes after the alarm goes off to get my barrings and then I have to wait awhile more to relax and try to get motivated enough to start the day. After I get moving, and get dressed and start doing things that signal that I'm starting my day, I usually have no problem getting going. It just takes me awhile.

I'm the kind of person who faces each day with the wish that it would just go away and leave me alone. I stagger and grumble and can't wait to get my first cup of tea. If it wasn't for my cat I'm not sure I'd get up before noon. But she knows it's her breakfast time, and that has to come even before my tea, durn it! I used to drive my mother crazy when she was trying to get me off to school.

I do the same thing with my cats..I make sure they have a nice fresh bowl of water, refill their bowl of dry food, and open up a can of cat food, all before I even fix my coffee, when I would rather get that cup of caffeine in me as soon as possible...and I was the same way when I was younger...must have drove my mom nuts!

It varies. Most of the time i jump out of bed my happy self, especially if i have my full 8 hours and wake up before 8.30am. Of course there are hard work days and they are usually the mornings i have to force myself up! I think it deffinatly makes you day alot more positive if you wake up feeling great.

I'm ok when I get up mentally, but physically, I am a wreck. I have Fibromyalgia, so I wake up stiff and sore every morning. There are bad days when I feel like someone beat me up too. Sometimes I don't even feel rested. :-( I do have good days where I feel better than others. So on those days, I jump out of bed. I'm just not much of a day person. I would rather do things at night.
Greets!

Yes I am a grumpy person in the morning, until I have had my coffee, and I really don't like to talk in the morning unless I have to. I like to get my coffee and log on and read the newspapers and check my mail. Then I'm ready to start my day.
