It's legal, and I'm glad it is. People should be free to love whoever they love. You can't force someone to love someone they don't love, so forcing someone to love another gender if they really aren't interested is a bad thing. I think love is a universal thing, so yes, it can happen that people are gay. They are not hurting anyone be doing is, if you don't like it, just try to avoid it.
