Who is Jehovah? Is, his name mentioned on the Bible. Why you give prominance to Jehova than Jesus?

Maybe I should elaborate more:
In the original Hebrew the personal name of the God of Israel is (I can't use Hebrew letters here so I will use a transliteration) YHVH (the Tetragrammaton). But when reading the scriptures the Jews would not pronounce the name (out of reverence) so they would say Adonai (which is translated as Lord and is used frequently in the OT as well). Later on the Masoretes came along and added vowel points to all the Hebrew scriptures and put the vowel points for the word Adonai under YHVH so as to remind people to say Adonai instead of the personal name of God. Then when early Christians were reading those scriptures they incorrectly attributed those vowel points to YHVH (they weren't aware of the practice of using a different word's vowel points) and so it became transliterated as Iehovah (the I becomes a J when brought over into English). For various reasons scholars have largely agreed that the more accurate pronunciation is Yahweh.

Are there any holidays that you celebrate? I know Jehovah's Witnesses don't celebrate a lot of the typical "Christian" holidays because of pagan elements that have been mixed with them, including often the times of year at which they are celebrated.
So I just wondered, since I know many of the holidays other Christians celebrate aren't celebrated by Jehovah's Witnesses, are there any holidays that are? When are they and how are they celebrated?

I think only showing your love on a specific day is a little suspect myself. If the love exists all the time, shouldn't it be celebrated all the time? =p
Thanks for answering my question. I really appreciate it. I love learning about other people's religions!

So you ignore the fact that crucification was a (relatively) common punishment in the Roman world?

Your welcome.
If you have any more questions you would like me to answer let me know I will be happy to try to answer them for you, a lot of people don't understand our beliefs and once we explain it to them it makes more sense to them, for example our stand on blood, the trinity, and that Jesus didn't die on a cross but a stake, you try and carry a cross even a stake would have been really hard.
