Let’s say you have a situation like I wrote below. Which one will you choose? Choice A Basic salary 2000 advantage: 9 to 5 job. Less pressure. Have extra time to do some freelance jobs (extra income around 300-500 per month. maybe more), close from home. disadvantage: Less benefit. Tough to get increment in salary. Choice B Basic salary 2500 advantage : More benefit (bonus, commission etc). disadvantage : A lot of pressure. 9 to 5, but maybe have to stay longer because of the dateline. Far from home

I would take choice B because of the challenge and the promise it holds for me. I thrive on challenges and I am the type of person who performs best when under pressure. Even if I have to be paid the same I would still take it. It's not the money but the growth that I am after. As to being away from home, one could just adjust and still maintain a balance lifestyle. I just love deadlines!

The good thing of choice A is I will have more time to do some freelance jobs. But of course, it won't be a fix income. Sometimes I have jobs, and sometimes I don't. Yet one thing I love about freelance jobs is usually I work with my own vision. I will advice the clients what best for them and sometimes I did some designs/experiments that I have never done before. So to speak, It's more challenging I will definitely gain more exposure, skills and knowledge.

That is a definitely a different way of looking at it. In any endeavor, it is important to have FOCUS. I would rather do one challenging thing and focus on that. You might be spreading yourself too thin in the long run. That is how most successful businesses and people are doing then they diversify when they are there already. I have also learned that personally. HOwever, each person is different and what may be effective for most people may not necessary work or be effective for you. Regardless, I wish you all the best and success in whatever you choose to undertake.

i think i will go for choice A...reason being i will near to my home hence will be able to save the money which i would have spent B by staying away from home...Hence i think it comes to the same...so i would have gone for choice A.

The reason I'm not sure which one to choose is because when I'm weighing things up its end up the same anyway. So to speak, your point is also right. If I choose B I probably will get more money but in the end I will spend it more on traveling anyway.

Choice B caz the basic salary is higher and got benefits, work time can always be discussed, especially with your married with children, make sure your employer knows how much you care and want to be with your family. Choice A is not bad, avoid commuting and give you a head start in online income

Thanks for your input. I'm still undecided yet. Need more time to think about it.
