I WATCH BOTH, THE GREEK VERSION, THE GREEK SUPER DEAL ON THE WEEKENDS AND THE ENGLISH ONE WHICH PLAYS JUST RIGHT AFTER THE GREEK ONE LOL. THIS IS SOMETHING i WATCH TO CHILL LOL BUT i FIND MYSELF BITING MY TONGUE AND HANGING ON THE EDGE OF MY SEAT IN AGONY WAITING FOR WHAT THE CONTESTANTS ARE GOING TO DO. Do you watch Deal or no Deal? Do they play it in your country. Apparently it is played in seventy different countries, that is how successful it is. I really like the Greek one because they play music and every one sings and dances in it.

in India, we had 3 seasons of DEAL OR NO DEAL (indian version). i kind of watched all 3, if not all episodes. it was fun and my mom and me used to sit on edge in anticipation. i , sprecially, liked the second season where Mandira Bedi ( a famous, vibrant anchor and actress) used to flaunt her wit and presence. i remember one episode where a man, who dwelt on a single room with his paralysed, autic mother without any proper job, won a huge sum and donated the half to the Autistic society and the half he kept for treatment. that was awesome! and we all cried in happiness..

I must say that I really do not understand the appeal of this programme, as it leaves me cold. However, it does seem to be very popular, and my father, who lives in Spain, is also addicted to the English version. I have never had the pleasure of seeing the Greek version of the show, and hope you have a slightly more appealing presenter than our Noel Edmonds. The singing and dancing certainly sounds fun.
As a footnote, did you know that Noel Edmonds once killed a member of the public live on Saturday night television? It's true, I saw it live when I was a teenager.
All the best, and keep enjoying the show. If it gives you pleasure, then it's worth showing.

I think, it's great that you and your Mum share these things. We often never appreciate our parents until they're gone.
With regard to 'Noel the killer'. He has hosted several early Saturday night tv shows on BBC1, in the past, and they've all merged into one in my memory, so I could not tell you which show it was. However, each week, there was a competition for the public, and the prospective winners names were put on a wheel. When spun, whomsoever it stopped on would take part in a challenge the following week, and win a holiday, or some other prize. One week, the challenge was to be catapulted through the air into a net, with a bungee rope, or something similar. The young gentleman was thrown through the air, about 60 feet, but missed the net, and crashed fatally to the concrete ground. This led to the cancellation of that spot within the show, and the show came back the following year with a differnet name.
This was in the 80s when we had more 'live' telly shows.
Other classic moments, that led to 'live' tv being phased out, were Margaret Thatcher being questioned by a young girl (obviously preprepared by her parents) about sinking the Belgrano (during the Falklands War), and a band called 'Matt Bianco' being told they were sh*t - both during childrens telly phone-ins.
Of course, we still get the good bit of telly, like our Deputy Prime Minister getting into a fight with a member of the public,
Bring back 'live' telly, editing and 10 second pauses, are ruining telly!
Enjoy the show, and give your Mum a big hug from me.
All the best, and my money's on box 14 today.

I watch it with my Mum when I am with her, it keeps her and me close in a funny way, we made it like a game to each guess what is in the box..What did Noel Edmonds do to that person? Oh the Greek presenter is very sweet and charismatic and a great family man apparently.

We do watch deal or no deal here in our country philippines. But for now the host of that game show is having maternity leave so the show stopped and will be back after a month. When we watch in that show we really feel excited for the contestant and that makes the show top rating.

I don't understand Deal or no deal, people just open boxes. Wheres is the entertainment? OK they have to decide whether to take the money or not but it doesn't really make any difference to me, although i do like it when they lose loads (i think i have a slightly evil streak!) But still theres a limited level of interest, i have watched 2 episodes and i'm bored of it now

I love Deal or No Deal, I watch it every day here in the UK with Noel Edmunds it's on channel 4 at 4.15-5pm. I have even applied to go on the show but sadly they have enough contestants until 2008, very popular indeed. Knowing my luck I'd win the 1p instead of the big jackpot of £250,000. I can't stand it when the contestants get really cocky, then I hope they lose, sorry but I think some of the people who go on it don't deserve to win and those that do don't win much, like life really!

Yep, I'm with your mum on this one, I cheer and jump up and down if they uncover the quarter of a million and they are so obnoxious! If they start to win I turn over or 'mute' them, some of the contestants have been absolutely awful and I can't bear to watch them.

I like to watch deal or no deal as well. But I think I am not addicted as much as you are lol. I watch it once a week. SOmetime I miss also. My hubby also like to watch this show. I like to watch when some greedy people have to go home like with $1000 when they go upto 200 thousands or more in the game. I feel so pity for them.

the deal or no deal version here in the philippines was big hit and it lasted for about 9 months. it was really heart stopping and everyone loved it. the two million peso jackpot was pretty elusive but it was won like thrice or something. i miss it right now, actually! i missed the feeling while watching it.

Here in the Philippines, the second season of the Deal or No Deal is set to air on June 4th. Here, we call it "Kapamilya: Deal or No Deal". It's hosted by a controversial lady named Kris Aquino who recently gave birth to a baby boy. Here,26 beautiful ladies carry 26 briefcases which correspond to money amounting from one Philippine peso to 4 million Philippine pseos.
I like watching Deal or No Deal because it's very exciting. I also like the sound arrangements of the show here in the Philippines - very heart pounding.

I used to watch it every day. Lately I haven't been watching it so much. I think it is a great show, and from time to time, when I am not so busy I will still watch it. It is a good thing to watch when trying to chill out. :) Then as you say it gets more and more tense. lol. Do you ever phone up and try and win the prize or do the free web entry? I have dreamed of winning it. :)

Religous, commedy, and some types of documentaries. I love South Park, Simpsons, and things having to do with the inside dealings of major corporations and the fast-food industry. Super Size Me and Fast Food Nations are among my faves.
I have only heard of Deal Or No Deal through stuff I've read on the Internet.

Yep I watch deal or no deal. It's the best game show to watch. I've never seen it in Greek, but I don't think it plays in my area. I am like you and hold onto the edge of my seat while contestants get more money or less money.

I watch it in Australia. It is only recently that I've completely understood the concept of the game. I could never understand how someone would reveal a small amount of money and everyone cheers and claps, then they reveal a large amount 5 minutes later and everyone still claps! But I do understand now and I think it's a very clever and addictive show. Although we don't have singing in the Australian version, there is still a lot of fun going on.

LOL, this DEAL or NO DEAL is really an exciting show to watch. A mixture of drama and suspense for sure. We do have a Philippine version of our own. Unfortunately, it ran like 3 or 4 months only. The host of the show needed to rest. She was pregnant that time. A popular actress who is the only one who can carry the show well. I do hope it will back on air again.

Hello yanjiaren!(",)
Here in the Philippines we also have our Pinoy version of Deal or no deal. The host of this show is Ms. Kris Aquino. I really like watching this show when it was still airing because due to the hosts pregnancy, the show was cut for a moment.(",)
I like watching "Kapamilya, Deal or no deal" because one will never know the outcome of the show. Will the player get richer or leave empty handed? I also like the mystery involving the banker because we don't know who he is. It is such an exciting show, plus 24 lovely girls who hold the briefcase.(",)
Great day!

I used to watch it regularly(the English Version). But now my daughter does not let me watch it anymore..she wants to watch her own favourite CBBC or CITV or even her DVDs LOL..But I used to watch it and was hooked on to it and very reluctantly had to let go of watching it anymore. Now when I have the time, and if my daughter is sleeping at that time,I watch it but not regularly.but yes,it is very popular.and it really keeps you on the edge each time the player asks for the contestants to open the box..really nailbiting and very addictive.I used to get headaches out of the tension when watching it every evening LOL!
