Do you start a discussion every day?

As I look threw the discussions started, it seems that some people start many discussions daily. I usually only start discussions when there is something major happening in my life. I spend the other days responding to others discussions and replying back to the discussions I have started days before. What is your strategy on mylot?

There are some days I post a couple of discussions and some days I don't post new ones at all. It just really depends on the day and what things I have running through my head at the time lol. As you know already I spend a lot of time commenting to discussions I have started and there have been a few days I have done nothing but comment lol. You know I have been trying to increase posters awareness of the importance of commenting to discussions. If we could get that accomplished maybe we wouldn't see all the frivilous postings all the time.
Anyway you know how I feel about it and I am sorry I didn't mean to start ranting in your post. It just gets under my skin.

That is why I started this post. I only post a few discussions a week and only things that are meaningful to me. I always try to keep commenting to keep the discussions going as far as possible also. Thanks for replying.

I'm like you, I can't think of topics to start discussions unless something is going on with me personally and I want others opinions.

Hi sunshine4!
As much as I would like to post discussions everyday, I can't. I don't have much ideas to start for discussion. I only get to start one if there I had an extremely good or bad day. I just reply to others' discussions everyday.

Sounds like what I do. I don't like to just start a discussion about nothing just to start one.

Definitely, I'd rather not start a discussion than start one that isn't good quality.

I don't start very often a discussions.I saw many people did but I can't.The most of the members with a lot new discussions at the day or start some that already we read and response here many times or they start about stuffs of them personal life. It's hard to find new good point to start anew discussion and I don't like make my personal daily life a new topic (nothing bad just it's not how I'm)so I prefer come response others discussions and time to time start my own.

Thanks for your input. I know that before I start a discussion I want to make sure it isn't a repeat of someone elses. I hate responding to a discussion and seeing the same discussion started the following day by someone else.

I go through spells where I start discussions everyday and usually try to get four or five started but then go days without bothering to start any . It depends on how things are going and if I am interested in knowing something or there are times I just want to know how others feel on something . I spend the majority of my time responding to others though as I don't usually get a lot of responses and it takes awhile to type up what it is I am trying to say .

I am like you. I normally only start a discussion if there is something I really need advice on or if it is something I read somewhere and think it is something worth sharing. Then occasionly I will post a joke or two that I come across. I do have to admit that I normally forget to go back to the discussions I start and respond to those that have posted responses. That is something I am trying to work on. So if you have posted anything to my discussions in the past I am sorry if I haven't gotten back to you.

Thanks for responding. I have found that getting the emails from mylot on all those who have responded to my discussions helps me to get back to them and keep organized.

I tried that but got overwhelmed with emails. It made it hard for me to weed thru my emails. I run a freecycle group also, so between the two it just made if very hard. So I had to turn it off.

I post responses every day also. I don't think that those who post many posts every day are the top discussions. I think that the posts that are very interesting and get many responses are the top discussions.

not really, i dont start discussions every day, initially when i joined mylot i used to start atleast one discussion in one day. firstly now i spend much less time on mylot secondly i feel its extremely difficult to think of an entirely new topic for discussion, although i have realized that starting a discussion is extremely important since my earnings have decreased drastically.

Do you think that you earn more by starting discussions? I am not sure. I do more responding to others discussions and am happy with my earnings.

I definitely respond more to other people than I start my discussions. I wouldn't say I start one every day. There are days where I will start six discussions, and there are days when I won't start any. I guess it all depends on what I have to talk about, and if I have any questions I want answered lol. I also don't like getting discussions deleted so I try not to post discussions that I don't think will get a lot of responses.

I go with my mood. I don't start discussions every time I log on. Usually only one or two discussions a week! I just can't think of that many discussions that I think are worth starting! I do spend more time responding and replying.

I think that my mood has a lot to do with it too. Sometimes I just feel like responding and not starting discussions.

There are some days when I've started four or five discussions and other days when I can't think of a thing to discuss so I just end up responding to other discussions. I find it difficult to be original. Also, what I think might be a popular discussion, ends up being a bit of a dud sometimes. Still, I'm really happye when I begin a discussion that others find interesting and I feel that I am contributing to the quality of the board on some level.

Thanks for responding. I know how it feels to start dud discussions also. I am leary of starting them at times unless I think that they will be of interest to others.

I've not a method...
Some days I want to talk about something I post even more than one discussion.
Another day I just answer to someone and post just 1 response.
It depends. But I do it just for fun, not to gain or to reach a prefixed goal.
my-lot is freedom and I like it as it is.
Many times I don't post neither the tags.

No, I really don't. I can go days starting no discussions, and then smething will pop into my head and I jot it down. Once in awhile I might even start a couple at once but not very often. I would never start 5 or 6 or more.

I also answer a lot of discussions here... I am more on responding than posting discussions. I just don't have so many ideas on what good topics are there that people will be interested in. So I am just answering to discussions and if something pops in my mind, that's the only time I will start a new discussion.

Well, you know, I'm so busy responding to open discussions, that I don't have time to start any discussions, and I do have a lot of discussions I could start, but I just don't take the time! I enjoy "talking" to people, and exchanging ideas! If I had the money, I would probably stay on here 24 hrs a day! I better go my toast is burning!!

At first, I always start lots of discussions everyday .
I do that as I could not reply any post succeed due to my internet speed. I don't know why this happened ,but now I can reply always .
I like reply others post now and I only start a post when I really want to post and something happened in my life .
and I think it is better to do this than before.

I have only been on Mylot two days but find it a great place to chat to people about some really random subjects. I have started some discuccions that I find relevant to me, and if you check you can see that most of them are only relevant to me (no responses LOL).
I respond to discussions that catch my interest, I find it stupid to try and answer something that you are not interested in.
Anyway, I ramble on, thanks for this discussion, I enjoyed reading your responses and replies.

I find it annoying when people will respond to a discussion that obviously doesn't interest them. I have had someone answer a discussion with the word~ no. Why bother to even post that?!
Welcome to mylot....I will check out your discussions and see if they relate to me:)
