Happy Mother's Day to all the moms of MyLot!! How are you celebrating this day of recognition for yourself? Relaxation? Rest? Parties? Dining with your children? What will you being doing?? I am going to get to see my oldest son - who has Down Syndrome - graduate high school on Mother's Day. This is a blessed gift as doctors and educators alike did not think we would see this day. Included in the celebration will be a special gift for me on the side - my baby transcending the odds and receiving his diploma!! He turns 18 too on Saturday which he wasn't supposed to see either - so they said. God says otherwise!! Amen!!

Well, I know this reply comes after Mother's day, but I hope you had a happy Mother's Day! Congratulations on your son turning 18 and graduating! Way to go! It sounds like you probably had a nice day. My Mother's day weekend was nice (it was a little difficult as I just lost my mom in February 2007, other than that it was nice). I spent Saturday watching my son play his championship Soccer game, they came in 2nd lace for the season, then I went to lunch with my daughter and step daughter, then Sunday, I went to the movies with my two sons, my husband and a family friend. It ended up being a nice weekend, I missed mom but I just kept fond memories of her all day.

Thanks for the mother's day wishes. Every day is mother's day if we have children. My sympathies to you in regard to the recent loss of your own mom. That is not easy and though I do not know exactly how it feels at this point in my life, loosing my grandmother seventeen years ago is close to understanding. I always miss her on significant days and events. Sounds like you had a great weekend with your own children and I know your mom was with you as well!!
