Do you love dogs?

This is a very simple question that i started but then here is the story: I have been wanting to have a dog of my own as friend and have tried many many times eversince i was a child..several attemps i was given puppy by my friend and i really love that little one...my family don't like dogs so it is all left to me to take care of the dog, they try to throw away my dog in the street and not giving it food. I have struggled for that dog to keep him safe and well but then the next morning it died. I really was so sad. Then a friend of mine gave me another one but same thing happened, someone will poison my dog at nights because there are so many bad guys /thieves in our neighborhood. I suspect that they are responsible for poisoning my dog. Here in my country some people eat dogs as one of their delicacies and it really is gross...i have seen a documentary of how they were killed and it just breaks my heart. Care to share your story here?

If you live with somebody who suffers from asthma, it's not really advisable to have dogs in the house because that will worsen the asthma. There are also people who do not like dogs and if you are still young and living with your family who don't like dogs, then wait until you have your own family and do whatever you like. In the Philippines, many people eat dogs and they call it azucena - a flower, but the Tagalog of dog is aso and so the euphemism is azucena. It's really heart-breaking for a pet to be killed and eaten by people who do not care but that's how it is as of now. In Baguio City or in the surrounding provinces, dog meat is a delicacy and it's very difficult to enforce the law prohibiting the killing and eating of dog meat.

I have the same problem as you concerning unsupportive families. They think that dogs are smelly and dirty but I try to make them understand that that's because of lack of hygiene and not bathing the dog frequently. We did try keeping dogs before but they all ended up being given away because we did not know how to house train it. It's sad.

First off I want to say that I am very sorry for you loss. Next I want to answer your question. Yes I do Love dogs. I know that must have been really hard for you to deal with. The thought of anyone eating, posioning or harming a dog seems to turn my stomach. I don't understand how people can hurt such a sweet innocent poor animal. Maybe not now, but one day if things get better to were you can change the situation you will be able to have a dog and enjoy it's company. Peace and Love sent to you for your loss
