I have very fond memories of my school library. We did not have many restrictions regardingthe books we took from there. I loved reading Perry Mason, Earnest hemingway and Somerset Maugham. these wre the kind of books we had there. I guess that helped me become a good reader later on. I also loved the way we talked there in hushed tones about the most important things in life. And the way we stood up when our class teacher came in once and she told us that it was not necessary to do that in a library. We were supposed to be serious readers immersed in the books and academics once we were in!You have some fond memories of your school library?

I love to read. I am also a school librarian. There is something about being in a room or building full of books. There is all this knowledge just waiting to be discovered. My problem is time. I can not spend enough time doing the reading that I would like to do. I also viewed a library as a gateway to a different place.

Well i can tell you an amazing thing, i never had a library at my high school.
We always went to the public city library when we had to study, and it was a traumatic thing for me.
I always had to be quiet there, and there was always tension felt in the air.
So i can tell you how lucky i felt when i had my first Internet connection when i was in the end of my high school years.
It helped me alote in my academic years, and i always knew people that their parents or friends were lecturers at the university, so they did not have any problem lending my books that were relevant.

That sounds curious. I ca never imagine my school years with out our cute little library in the background, which was so significant in my growing up.ou must have been really sad and deprived until you got your internet connection, I am sure. But it is nice to know that you had access to bigger libraries and books from your aquaintances. Thanks for the response.
