Lights out !

I have 2 girls and they are now over the age of 10 and still insist on sleeping with the light on at night, as you can appreciate they really should be able to sleep in the dark by now. I want some advice on ways of dealing with this problem, Should I just force them to sleep in the dark or try and persuade them to do it on their own ?

Even adults are afraid of the dark and many sleep with lights on. What we do is to have a little lit that could slightly light the room or a lampshade. It's also difficult to be groping in the dark if an emergency arises. I suggest that you provide some sort of a source of light other than your regular light so that your daughters won't be afraid of total darkness.

They have a touch lam between the beds with 3 levels of lighting, We have discussed it with them and decided for now will let them keep the light but on low setting so is not tottally dark.
