have you ever wondered where smileys came from? i mean, they didn't just come out. programmers didn't just think of it and let it out.. it must've come from a certain inspiration.. and i guess i've found out where it came from.. (see pic) hehehe.. c',)

do you remember the movie 'forrest gump'? there was a scene there where forrest gump went on a running spree across north america. one of those who followed him in his running spree, gave him some shirts he can use to replace what he was wearing. forrest gump took one to wipe his sweaty face with. with it, came the mark of forrest gump's face in a seeming smile full of gratitude for him. the idea of a smiley for the designs of his shirts came forth and the man reaped good $$$$ from it.

hahaha.. probably because the "yellow ball" is the general form and is most usable since it can easily be drawn.
