Have it ever occurred to all mylotters why our star rating, points and earnings keeps going up or down? Why are some of our discussions deleted? In case we havent noticed, there is a button where plus, minus and complains at our disposal. The way I look at it, it is entirely our faults when someone kept on having problems with deletion of their discussions, star rating going down or points and earning get deducted. We ourselves have the upperhands to push the button. The mylot admin, in order to keep everything under control, will just executes any action they think appropriate for the complains received from mylotters. Remember, we all come from different background and personalities. Our action sometimes can contributes to others misery. It all entire up to us, to be a happy community or miserable community here in mylot. Be a good "citizen" in this community. After all, we are responsible for our own action. Anyway, this is only my opinion, what about you? Any comments? The saying goes: If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right. If it's not worth doing right, it's not worth doing at all. If it cant be done right, do something else you can do right instead." Agree?

i agree with you absolutely as long as this is the way it is. I do feel however discussions are being deleted at a faster rate than was the case. Have mylot changed the rules again?

I am not sure if I have taken the right meaning from what you said ellie but I think you are referring to the ever incresing problem of deleted discussions/points that members of this community are experiencing? I agree that we should always try to rate accordingly and that if our discussions are deleted it is because we have hurt or offended someone! Well I always try to be considerate of the feelings of others, don't say anything bad if I can find a nice way of putting my point across - which I usually can etc. I have a 10 star and a reputation of 99/100 yet I have had several discussions deleted - surely if I had upset or offended anyone it would affect my star and reputation surely? So I can't agree that our discussions are deleted for those reasons. If I have misunderstood your question I am sorry but it was nice to speako you anyway ellie! xx

I do think that we are to plice our selves . We should do it very fairly. I give positives as long as the response is relevant and has more than one or two lines. If I feel the response is too short I don't mark it at all. Hopefull as time goes by those that give very short responses will learn to do betterI know I have.I only give a negetive to those that give a response that is not relevant to the discussion or one that is being abusive to the discussion starter. I report any one that is copieing and pasting someone elses discussion or response. I

Hello,ellie,i always try to be a good citizen in mylot,i try to follow the discussions rules and not to violate any of them, but i still get few discussions deleted by mylot,honestly i can tell you those discussions are fine as no one had started similar discussions before,i had searched before i started the discussions. My friend told me it may be due to the glitch of mylot.
I will always try to rate all the replies positive,i will not give negative rating as i do not want deduction of earnings for someone.
I feel no problem if someone started similar discussions with other ,but i will not be happy if someone copied the others.

We're the ones writing the stuff in this site, so it's simply logical that we're responsible for everything in here. If something goes wrong with our ratings or our post, it's fair to assume that one way or another we did something wrong.
As a practice, i do think before posting a response. In as much as I do want to respond as correctly as possible, I also think of the sensibilities of the other people in this site. We do have our freedom of expression, but its plain courtesy not to hurt anybody.

I agree with you. I, so far, have not rated any discussion or any user. I havent given a negative or a positive to anyone. But maybe i should start rating discussions. Atleast my positive can negate someone's negative.

You have spoken a golden words. Positive rating for your discussion first of all. Secondly, there are three signs for rating as you know, The rating will increase when someone marks +, and will decrease upon marking -, the third one is for reporting abuse, when some one reports abuse, discussions gets deleted. I always rate truly, it is very rare that I mark Minus.

I always try to be fair with my rating, and rarely rate negative. I have, however, had to report a few lately, sadly. It seems that there are some people who take a great delight in being unpleasant to others and cause problems for us all.

I couldnt agree with you more. I always have done my best to be a good Mylot citizen and usually only contribute when I have something positive to say or at least be respectful of other Mylotters. I only rate other users with a plus or nothing at all. Take care, Terry

I did not notice any of my discussions delited so fae. Actually I don't check these things closely. One thing I invariably do, I rate every discussion and response and comment I read, either with a + or otherwise bo button pushing. I spent most of my time in mylot for reading discussions. I believe I am keeping up with the ethics of myLot.

Yup, I try my best to be a good mylotter as well. I try not to post anything that needs to be removed, but I am sure everyone slips once and awhile. I don't keep close track so I don't know if any of my stuff was deleted. My star goes up and down daily, from a 9 to a 10 and back to a 9. I don't feel it's anything i'm doing, but if it is so be it. I don't stress the star thing. I agree that you shouldnt bother posting unless it's a nice, good post, not a hateful post or a one liner.

I enjoy coming here to post, I don't care about my rating altnough at least so far it has remeained constant. I usually give a plus to most of the people who respond to a discussion I like and respond to, I figure as long as they respond it is a posetive. I only once gave a - and that was because their response was totally off the subject and started a new subject. It was like he was hijacking the topic for his own purpose. Why not start your own topic if you are going to do that.

hi ellie26, here the plus will increase your ratings as you must be knowing that. i have rated many friends on mylot till today in a plus. i have not rated anyone in minus or an abuse. i am here to earn and ket other's also earn. if you give happiness to others by giving them a plus, you will also certainly get that happiness back. my responses are also marked as best responses many times and i feel happy . i respond them back by thanx or so , but then a friend only here on mylot said tha writing a thanx to every reply to a discussion, mylot does not like, infact my earnings can be decreased. it was some time aback, so i dont remember the exact words what he/she wrote to me , but now i care for that . but i really wanna thanx to all .
deletion of any decision is only when somebody has pressed the exclamation mark on the right end of the discussion which means the discussion has abusive material and is not a material to be read or kept on mylot. Mylot delete that discussion. i only know this much.
