Are you afraid of posting a discussion here?

Most of my friends know that I rarely post a discussion here. I normally post one thread each day. I also make sure to cite an event/experience on my discussion for members to comprehend what I am discussing about. After all, this is supposed to be a forum of sharing and exchanging of ideas as well as giving advices. However, today is different. I am starting to have this fear of posting any discussions anymore.
I posted a discussion yesterday "Have you ever met/knew anyone who doesn't know how to smile?" The first poster said things that are way out of league. I understand that everyone have their own views and opinions regarding a certain topic. But being a compassionate bunny, I never ever gave any harsh responses. I am always careful with my words.
I like to know if you ever felt this fear of posting any discussion? Do you also get upset when someone gave an offensive response? Or do you have enough confidence to keep posting any threads you like? Do share your thoughts.

Aw baby.. poor little bunny, did someone burn the hair off your skin and tried to chomp on your tail?
You know I have that experience before when people tried to kill me in my own discussions. But I have put these experiences behind me. Life goes on, no?
I would suggest you try to make peace with that person somehow. If she refuses to budge, then just be gracious and turn around and leave yourself. No point letting a stranger spoil your day. You are giving her too much claim on your life.

Oh no, baby. I may be adorable to look at but with what that poster said, my temper is volatile enough to ignite a bomb. You saw what she said. Don't worry, the last time I check, my hair didn't lose a strand and I can still wiggle on my cute tail.

Well thats sad. I'll have to go and check oput the response you're referring to. I have yet to have the experience of a very negative or offensive response as far as I know. I'm such an easy going type that I may have gotten some and never really realized it. I post whatever is on my mind without thinking what others may think of the discussion actually. Like I've said before I do this forum mostly for my own pleasure first and foremost. I also don't worry about whay type of responses I will recieve. If these people have nothing better than to be rude and or obnoxious on some forum then they really need to get a life. I have nothing else to add at this time.
HAPPY POSTINHS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Little bunny should be frightened to post, I guess we all get one every now and then, I try to rise above it, there are too many lovely people in here to worry about a few people who do not choose their word wisely after all these are only discussions and I think they should be kept light... the nice people in here out weigh the the not so good ones...keep at it bunny...

yes i too have gone through stages of not wanting to post discussions anymore. Certain subjects seem to bring the worst out in some people. After a particularly vitriolic response, I didnt post for a week. We have all come across it, the typical response starts with the old question, the worn-out Americanism, are you mad? well I can live without this kind of response from the hard of thinking, so io just dont post the subjects that provoke them. However, i do sometimes wish mylot admin would do something about this kind of rudeness, if people dont like the subjects under discussion, why not just leave them alone?
keep on posting
blessed be

Oh charms, my head may be big but I only have a small body. I need a thicker skin not to fear posting discussions. I fear my discussions being offensive, I fear my discussions appear stupid, I fear my discussions ended up similar to someone who also posted the same similar topic, I fear ...... There are so many fears, that's why I don't post discussions often.
Sure I would be upset if people give an offensive response, but I have a heart of steel. The bullet made a hole thru my skin but it cannot penetrate through my heart. myLot consists of all sorts of people with different levels of mentality and varying opinions. I remain immuned and stay focused and not be affected by noises. It's easy. lol.
Hope you are not discouraged and keep continue posting or I will have one less discussion to respond :P

LOL, bighead, you just mentioned that you have so many fears and yet you declared you have a heart of steel. What kind of a heart you got there anyway. If I shoot your heart with a carrot, I know it will hit right on target. Don't worry, I don't mess around with anyone's heart.

A steel heart means nothing can get penetrated from outside...but my brain is still soft. The fear comes from my brain and travels internally to the heart :P
And DeaXyza, thanks for appreciating my posts. I know they are great.**hmm hmm**...I fear spamming my friends' mailboxes too as not all share your same sentiments. lol.

I think i have a person who is upset with me, but i don't know why! You can't expect all to agree with you because we are all diverse, but who ever you are respect others opinions, please! I know this person( not literally)who you speak of. She or he is a very negative person and seems to respond to discussions with bitterness. Please don't be deterred, you have value in Mylot.
Take care Charms88.

I do not like it when I feel "jumped on" because of my discussion, and I have had a few like the one you describe.I also deleted one person from my friend's list because all of her responses to my discussions were critical, and blunt. Perhaps her words were like the face of your maid, she just could not be pleasant. I do not even start one a day at this time, because I do not have time to take care of my little discussions and comment, rate, and respond. Perhaps in a few weeks I will. I do agree that that was an unpleasant experience to be scolded in your discussion. Do not be afraid, you also received good support from your friends. You were not a mean bunny. I have been bitten by a bunny, and they can have sharp and piercing teeth.

Me thinks: Bunny should keep up the good work!
Even the best of us have sour days. And, there are some who have more than their share of sour days. There are also many of us who cherish Bunny's adventures and ponderings. So, please don't be disheartened by the occasional sour naysayer.
You just keep hopping, nibbling, and sharing your keen Bunny observations, knowing that you do have strong support out here in the garden.

Thanks ladyluna, my carrots tend to taste rotten and sour at times but I never passed it to anyone. I may be sitting right here in front of my computer, pounding heavily on my keyboard having some troubles, but I never let it out using vicious words.

You post more than I do. Lol. I only post once in a while, but not because I'm afraid to. It's because I only post things that are really important to me or I have to have an answer to a question. I think the person that answered your discussion from yesterday was very childish. We all have met someone that don't smile at all. I think that people are very inconciderate and don't need to be so harsh towards others. If someone goes too far with their response and is really rude and mean then yea I'm offended. But I just move on and rate them negatively and tell them how I feel about their response. I'll always keep posting threads no matter what people think of it.

yes sometimes I do really get afraid in posting a new discussion. I am afraid for some people become sarcastic and don't speak their real feelings. They speak it in another view which is not really true. You can feel it by his choice of words. Even though we avoid things and stuffs like that here in mylot, it is inevitable. There for sure will always be someone who will get you from that light you are on. They want you to go down and so, the better thing to do is fight back and do what's right. I encounter some people who love opposing even without reasons doing that. They just do it for they want to or they like it. Sometimes it can make the starter of the discussion afraid on what will the responses be for this past experience but after hardships, there will always be a sunshine so no need to worry them for there are a great percentage of people who will support you along the way. So, don't be afraid now bunny for we are here for you. :)

Ah bunny I am sorry your post got heckled/misunderstood. But you must understand one thing dear people in spite of your clearest intentions often misunderstand. You must not worry about these things at all, after all we meet many people here through our owns posts and by replying to other's posts so it would be possible you might meet atleast meet about 60-80 people on an average here so you are bound to meet people who will misunderstand you once a while. I read that post I feel the lady simply misunderstood your post and replied to your post without clarifying her doubts. but look at this way there were friends who jumped in and bailed for you did they not? So you have good friends here who care for you... so don't worry and keep posting we all like your posts here.
Offensive responses should not worry a popular bunny like you! There are going to be people who would misunderstand you all the time the best thing to do is try and clarify your position but even after your clarification they do not want to understand then it is best not to let this person bother you as they have already judged you... I know it is a blind judgement but people are like that! I am sure you meet people in your daily life like that but that does not put you off from making friends do they... so don't let a few comments worry you as long as your conscience is guilt free.
Happy Mylotting and have a happy weekend.

Thanks for the word of encouragement, deaxyza. I had learned long ago to detach my emotions whenever I'm here at mylot. But this woman used words that are volatile enough to ignite the fire out of me. I felt like being slapped on my face for no reason at all. I can understand the diversity of our minds and I also tend to disagree with other poster here. But I am vigilant with my words. I guess I'm just not a confrontational bunny.

Don't be afraid to posting a discussions, that's for sure. It's okay to get an offensive response. At least, it proved that they speak what on their mind. I always honored people who said different from my thought. You will be able to look at different side of views. Keep on posting, and keep on looking for something different views from all mylot members.

I don't post topics often, only when something pops up in my head. I know what you mean about harsh responses, but I don't let them get to me. I responded to that discussion you are talking about and saw the womans response. One can only think that either she had some bad experience or felt very strongly on the subject. In those cases you have to agree to disagree. I saw her point, while she didn't have to be so rude about it. We all are going to differ in opinion from time to time bunny. No worries, you keep on posting and just let it go. Sometimes we just have to let it go...lol :P

I understand, monkey. I honestly tried to assimilate each words the user posted. No matter how I tried to look at it, she was vicious in her words. I may be not be able to understand what she was trying to point out but choosing the proper words to put down isn't too hard to do so.

I really have never been afraid to post here on mylot about anything. I do realize people have different opinions and that dont bother me that is what i want. I want all different views to help me work out the problem i posted or just to broaden my mind to the rest of the world and how they think. I do get upset when people are not voicing there opinions and just are being downright rude but i dont let it get me down takes all kinds to make up the world right so i am not gonna take it personally if ya know what i mean. I will never stop posting discussions that i like just would make me want to do more.

I never felt the fear of posting but recently I had pasted certain links in my posts and My posts were deleted...That's OK coz I was violating the rules... and since then I have been circumspect of posting good quality posts and try not to break the rules of Mylot
