How can you erase someone from your life?

Can we really erase someone who means a lot to us from our life? It is a very difficult process and seems impossible to me right now - but I feel i should for the best of all involved. Any tips on how i can go about this? How do you say goodbye to someone you love very deeply?

You don't have to say goodbye to him. Why would you? If you love him, then you are meant to be, you shouldn't have to say goodbye to him. You have to think before you let him go. If he is your love, there is no reason to let him go. It hurts truely .. I am sorry but I don't have any solution for you .. It will hurt you as well as him ..

Yes it hurts a lot but sometimes love is not enough for a relationship to survive. I am just thoroughly confused and i dont want to be disappointed all the time. Its not fair to him too.

actually, erasing someone in your life is a very long process, maybe you forget him/her but not erasing him/her in your life.. i think you must learn how to move-on.. and if you really want to totally forget him/her,, you need to find someone who can turn your attention.. "A cure to love hurt is to be in-love again!"

Yeah but I dont believe in falling in love with someoen else to get over another person. It is not fair to anyone involved..love on the rebound never works.

I would like to know this too as I have just come out of an abusive 4.5 years relationship and I am trying to forget my ex, I have burnt all the letters and photos and cards my ex gave me, I think only time can cure, the person becomes less and less, unless you have drastic ideas, or hypnotherapy to forget them, then as time goes by so do they.

I think only time will heal your memory on your loved ones. It is very hard to forget someone you love. Personally I think even though you are able to continue living, a part of you still cling to the past. There are ways to heal a wound in the heart, but there is not way to clear the scar left in the heart. So, only time will heal because as we get older, we tend to forget.

if this person means a lot to you then I don't think there is any easy way to erase this person from your life, especially the memory will not go away just like that. what you can do is whenever you remember or meet this person again, remember also why you decide to say goodbye. It gives you the strength to stick with your decision and ease your step to move on.
I will never leave someone I love, just because it's easier to leave when I hate them or despise them. Anger helps me to revenge and move on. But I don't forget the lesson.
