Do you like to play your music loudly or quietly?

I am sitting here at the moment with my soft rock album blaring out at full volume! I'm sure they can probably hear it at the end of the street! I should point out that I'm in the UK and it is lunchtime!
I can't help it, some music sounds best when it's literally pounding through you!
I have young children and would never dream of playing loud music past 7pm in the evening!
What do you prefer... loud or quiet?

I like to listen to the music at full volume. But i will consider peoples around me... if i am in my car i will at the full volume. But at home, NO.... must respect others for them to respect us back. But if my neighbour is inconsiderate... then i will turn on the radio to the full volume....

My neighbours are ok. They know it will only be during the day and not late at night.

It's not the same through headphones though! Need good pounding speakers so you can literally feel the music rather than just hear it!

If it is the right time of day, I like to play my music loudly too. :) LOL
It just isn't the same when I have to play it quietly.
If it is a time of day that I have to play it quietly, I would rather put on a pair of headphones and listen to it.
But I think I need new headphones...because it does not get loud enough.
I think headphones should be able to drown out the sound of people talking around you! LOL

I listen to a lot of heavy metal, and to be honest the best way to play it is "turn it up to eleven"! When you look at it, in the grand scheme of things....life is loud, so make some noise in return!
As for me playing music REALLY loud beyond 1900, I'd do this without a doubt...but I have the advantage that I have a soundproofed room!

What are you playing at the moment hun? I have Black Sabbath on at the moment, almost full volume :-) I always have music playing in the house and in the car, usually fairly loud, but I do turn the volume down in the evenings

The album is softrock collected. Song on at the moment is Poison, Every rose.
Black sabbath is cool. I have such varied music tastes! Everything from Dolly Parton, to 80's, to Metallica, to Madness!

Hello, mummyofthree, when i am playing the musics,i will try to turn the volume down,i do not like to disturb other people,i can still relax myself even it is at a low volume. I will never play the music loudly as it may be a noise if i play it too loud and i am afriad my neighbours will complain about it.lol.

Music does not sound good unless it's pupmed up loud!! Even if I hate the music, if it's low I feel myself getting aggravated and tense. it's weird!

When I am in my cat I like to play my music loud. But when I am home I play it quiet.

I tend to be a "quiet music person," at least 90% of the time-- my ears are pretty sensitive, regardless of whether it's music, loud voices, jet engines, or whatever.
Some of it is probably because I got my ears somewhat hurt from industrial noise, many years ago, when I worked in a bottle cap factory without any significant ear protection. On the whole though, I was never much into playing music really loud-- even when I was in college.

I'd have to say LOUD!! I listen to all sorts (rock, indie, dance, hip hop etc)and you just cant be beat a massive blast of bass or earthshaking guitar solo's!! I'm kind of restricted by the poxy block of flats I live in! so I blast it out during the day(not everyday) and enjoy the quiet at night

I like my music at top volume too. Especially in the car. I drive down the road with the radio blaring full tilt, singing and dancing! lol Also in the afternoons when my daughters come home from school we like to crank it up and sing and dance. We can't do this when my husband has a day off from work because he prefers it quiet. That's pretty odd too because he is a drummer! lol

I like music in medium voice..!!Not too loud not too quite..!!
But I must say I am into quite music....!
Sometimes I just feel like sitting on my bed holding my coushion and listening toblues..how beautyful is that..!! With such peace and harmony..!!
And sometimes I feel like playing the lounge musics and dancing with my best friend or all alone..!!
And soft rock too its really a quality music..!!
But Also...sometimes I feel like playing rock music and dancing hard all lost in my world...!! And having fun..!!
But mostly quite music not loud..!!
I feel like people play loud music just to show there music system ...but sometimes the music is so good that we cannot help it..!!

I love to listen to my music LOUD especially in the car to the point where my ears are bleeding...LOL. I don't get to do it very often as the kids are usually in the car and I don't want to subject them to that...nothing better though on a nice day to have all the windows rolled down and the music blasting.

I like play music loudly because I find when I play it loudly,I can hear much clearly than play it quietly.Even I can recognize the singer's sigh. But my mother believes that I can play music loudly in my room but once the music is too loudly,it changes into noise.

the louder the better for me, it helps me stay on task and not get distracted but its a matter of being allowed to have it loud. i have this huge sound system connected to my computer which has over 5500 song on it but whats the point of having a giant sound system if i cant use it to its potential. so i have bought a $70 pair of headphones which give me the loudness i like and gives everyone else in the house the peace and quiet
