I need ideas for house plants

Does anyone know what houseplants make good natural air filters?? It would also have to be something that is not poisonous -- I have 4 indoor cats. I have no idea what plants would be good and I would appreciate any ideas you might have.

I love houseplants but my problem is that I don't have a green thumb. Every year I buy a new bunch of them and end up killing them all no matter what I do. I hope you have good luck with yours.
