Taking a chance in life. Do you stop yourself from taking a risk?

Our dreams and aspirations spoiled by our doubts of being great. The core of sorrow is often the inability to achieve our desires. "And the day came, when the risk to remain tight in a bud, became more painful, than the risk it took to blossom." Anais Nin How true is this phrase in your life? Are you still the bud or have you blossomed?

Never have doubts as to your ability to reach your dreams and goals. Maintain positive mental attitude, know you can do it. If you want something badly enough, you will fight your way to it, and hold it in your hand. There is a risk element in everything we do in this life, so if you try to avoid risk, you will never succeed. Go for your goals, and hold your dreams. You will come out on top!

Thanks Darkwing, that felt inspirational. It hurts being wound in a bud, your words felt very genuine, thanks.

I think I am still a bud! When I was younger I was VERY insecure in myself and my abilities and now my children are my priority! I love to think that when my children are older I will bloom and not let any insecurities hold me back!

I hope so too. I hold myself back too much and I'd like to think I'll bloom sooner rather than it be too late. Thanks mummymo.

I have blossomed, in more ways than you'll ever know:) Sorry to hijack the discussion, but I had so much stress this week, I ate like a Hmmmmmm trying to stay ladylike.. When I got on the scale it squeaked! And that darn scale told me I'm definitely not a bud anymore! lol I'm busy going through my chart. WoW very interesting, and according to that, I don't think I have blossomed enough! lol

HAHAHA, I know what that kind of blossoming is like, I have a reaction before during and after getting on those damn things! Does the chart sound familiar though? I'm glad you find it interesting.

I think as people get older they are generally more careful in life. I learnt at university that there are three types of people: movers and shakers, steady workers and plodders. The first group are likely to have achieved their desires. They are not afraid to take a risk. Most of them are highly successful people. The middle group know what they want most of the time and get it some of the time. They do not like taking risks as they prefer to feel safe. The third group are easy going and have no clear grasp of what they want. They drift along in life. I guess I am in the middle group.

It's a shame that people get more cautions the older they get. I'm pretty much in the middle group but I'd rather be in the top one. I think I need to take more risks before I end up in the third group! LOL. Thanks maximax8.

i believe in taking risks...and feel that there can be nothing achieved in this world without taking risk..its a part of life and if we dont take risks we get stuck in the same pool as others...winner is someone who knows how to take risks..
