My parents having a great 'time of their life'

I have noticed that my parents and even my uncles and aunts seems to want to spend a lot of time with the children. Whenever we go on an outing, they just volunteer to take over as far as the kids are concerned. I guess they feel happier and they genuinely enjoy the children. I have attached here a picture in one of our outings wherein we all got tired and had to take a break but my parents had stayed on the swam in the knee deep water with the kids. One usually gets tired from an outing but not me. LOL! However, the one who really have the best times aside from the children are my parents who I think just have the best times of their life whenever they spend the wholeday with their grandchildren just having fun.

As a grandparent I relate to this discussion all to well. I love spending time with my 2 grandsons more than time spent with anyone else or anywhere else. These children are the loves of my life. I feel it's actually an extension of my children that I am with when with the grandsosn. It takes me back to when my children were little. So it's sort of a vigorous trip down memory lane for us old farts actually. When we get a hotel room at the casino the daughter and grandsons visit. I have a blast playing in the pool with them teaching them to swim and tread water. I also take them to the exercise room running on the treadmills. Being with them gives me the best workouts I will ever get in reality. So for me it's a trip down memory lane, an exercise routine, and just plain good family fun.

It does take years off. But not too many as I tire easily. Hahaha!

Thank you veru much for sharing Grandpa Bob. Grandchildren, indeed, are very good therapy for grandparents and makes one feel young again with all those running and exercise. My father is already 64 years old and my mother is 61 and they are still very young at heart who laugh a lot with their grandchildren around. I bet it took years and years off your age whenever you spend time with your grandchildren. Happy postings!

That's true, I notice that too. When our parents
get to have grandchildren, they tend to enjoy
playing with the kids and treat them so gently
and lovingly.
I see that they delight having the kids around.
I think that having grandchildren adds a new
dimension in their lives and it sometimes
overwhelms them.
