hello everyone Nowadays lots of mail server like yahoo, rediffmail and gmail provides very huge mail box. Is it make sense of using this huge mail box even we generally uses only 5 to 10 percent of given spaces. my friend told me about a site 30gigs.com which provides 30GB mail box. How can one utilizes that much space in mail box. what you think is it really right thing or wastage of resources?

I don't think there is a sense about having big mail boxes. Why? Why would I allow it to fill until 30 gigabytes? That would be insane! There is no sense on having mail boxes with so much space! So, in my opinion, there is no sense in having HUGE mail boxes.

it depends on what is your purpose of getting a bigger space. if it's for personal use , yahoo and gmail is ok but if it is meant for my business then i would need 30gigs.com because i need a lot of information from suppliers and clients.

It may not matter to around 70 % of the people who use the emails but it certainly is useful to others who can use these mailboxes as temporary storage medium in order to transfer huge content from one place to another. But i accept the fact that most of us use only about 10% of the total inbox size that is allocated to us. These sizes are just a way to lure people towards them. I dont think this will be a wastage of resources as the mail providers are smart enough not to allocate the spaces at the beginning. They usually allocate space whenever it is needed thereby reducing any wastage.

Hotmail used to have a 2mb inbox I think, that's why I switched to gmail. I use about 20% of my 2gb+ inbox and I never delete my email. I think hotmail's inbox is larger now, but I will continue to use gmail.
