Don't they tear you apart like they do to me? How do you deal with them? Just comfort food or adopting a different lifestyle?

Stay away from the comfort foods! getting bloated and fat isn't going to make you feel any better about yourself.

Yeah I know but I was helpless. Learnt my lesson though. In fact, a good 45 minutes on the treadmill eased out most of the frustration. :)

My sister tells me that she can always tell when someone breaks up with me, because I do something different to my hair. :) I do get really affected by break-ups, though. I usually end up calling in sick to work for a day, and sitting around the house and moping, or dragging a friend shopping with me. After that, I can cope a little bit better, but it still will tear me up for a good week or so, depending on the length and intensity of the relationship. Other than that, I have a tendency to stop eating, or eat very little, for a few days, which is probably the worst part of the break-up for me physically. Somehow no food, no matter how comforting, sounds good to me.

My last breakup took over 2 years to get over because it totally destroyed my self esteem. So I guess I didn't deal with it very well. For me, it certainly wasn't comfort food, in fact, quite the opposite. I dropped 20 pounds in the first 3 weeks.
