I'm disappointed with Derek!

Poor Meredith is struggling with so much loss right now between losing her mother, her stepmom and her dad outright rejecting her. Derek is just sort of standing off to the side not doing anything to be supportive. He sees her with her friends drinking tequila shots and he leaves! He sees her friends sitting on the stairs as she takes the test and he leaves again! At the bar a woman hits on him and although he tells her no, he says it's because he's with friends. No mention of having a girlfriend?
I'm disappointed in this turn of events with Derek's character! What is going on with him???

I do agree that he hasn't been there when she really needs him but at the same time he has tried to talk to her and be there for her and she just pushes him away. One minute she is telling him everything even the lil stuff just to try and prove she can communicate with him and then the next episode when something important happens to her she just tells him she doesn't want to talk about it and walks away from him. So even though he should try harder to get her to talk and to be there for her if he really does love her she shouldn't push him away so much. You can only push someone so much before they just completely give up.

I was wondering the same thing. Whats up with McDreamy anyway? Is it that he wants the chief of staff potion that badly? Or does he see Meredith as being to weak and fragile for him? We will probably have to wait untill next season to know whats going on tho, I think we are in the wind down phase now :(((
