Oh honey! I'm a cashier at Wal-Mart and I know your pain!! I've got people who want to tell me their life story, complain about things I have no control over, make jokes that I've heard several times a day, ect.
These kinds of jobs makes you really hate the 'public'.
Where are you a receptionist at?

What a dantastic discussion. Sorry I didnt see ti sooner. I think you just summed up the workday blues there in 3 lines.
Unfortunately I dont have a computer in work - as I work in a kitchen so I will never have the pleasure of venting these blues so well.
SO are you still in the job? Are you still just as miserable?

I still am a the job. It goes up and down. On friday I broke down twice, but it was also that time of month. Today I am fine.

If you are not enjoying your job - try to get something else.
Unfortunately, you will probably find that there are always moaners and groaners - that's just how us humans have become - but at least in different job they will be moaning about something different!

Wow I had no idea it was like that. I mean I know people complain, we all do it but I've never worked in that public of a job that I couldn't just change the subject . I think it would drive me crazy aswell.
I guess though I have had my fill of complainers but Ive found now that I work for myself I don't deal with it much and the ones I get I try to change the subject quickly. I sympathize with you.

I would suggest yoga or personal meditation of some sort for calming. It can really help as well as isometric exercise. It is a way to temporarily shift focus and assist your stress levels.
