Why do WARS start over RELIGION????

May 11, 2007 2:26pm CST
Hello there, I find it very disturbing the amount of wars that happen are blames on religion. Im sure most religions say not to harm others and to help people less fortunate. WHat do you think on this topic?

i agree that GOD is bigger but the only think that happen what if some one offend your father or mother or daughter , so what about some one offend the greatest person you admire , yes i agree that violent have to be erased from the land and GOD will do for the bad person a bad things and we are not the hands of GOD , yes i know that no one should face the mistake with the mistake but it really makes us sad , and this sadness happen when even it is a cartoon about Jesus or moses , we admire them all . we don't except any bad things about any religion that come from GOD , but we don't except violent too , but we have the right to be sad if the freedom used to hurt people whatever their religion is , don't you agree with me ? no more violent , and more love and respect .that will make the world better .

I think the main problem between the monothestic faiths is the fact that they all claim to have the "Exclusive" on God and from a theological franchise it becomes rather messy. Being God's agent is an exceedingly lucrative franchise. It allows you to control minds and when you control the minds of the masses, you end up making lots and lots of money. So, the moment you claim to have an exclusive, you're going to fight all the way to remove the competition here. - Call me a cynic here but as I get older, I've come to realise that the people who claim to have the exclusive on God or that they have the only connection to God don't have it. Surfing around mylot makes me think that the Fundimentalist Christians are as awful as Osama but don't have the guts to do what they would like to do. I've also come to the conclusion that the Muslims need to get a life and get in tune with the Spirit rather than the Word. Really, what's the big deal about some cartoonist in Denmark drawing offensive cartoons of the Prophet? Doesn't it say more about the other guy? - Well it does until you go around trashing property and become worse than the original clown? God should be bigger than all of humankinds petty little fights and should not be blamed. I think humanity needs to learn to live in a world where God is not the crutch of choice for your own stupidities.

There are some religions that do not tolerate people who do not believe the same way that they do. This is not a new thing, and has been going on for thousands of years. Most of the religious wars today are being fought by extremist factions of religion and do not represent the majority of the people from that religion.

do you think we will ever live in harmony?

As long as any religion is intolerant of everyone else that is not a part of their religion, then the short answer would be no. There are those who say believe or die. That attitude is not really conducive to harmony.
