I always used to be very relaxed about exams and didn't understand why people got so stressed about them.
I'm currently sitting some important exams and have found that I get very stressed just before the exams start.
I think this is partly because of the things I've been through recently which have made me more emotional than normal but also because I'm so close to the end of five years of hard work and I don't want to mess up.
So, I'm hoping some of you will have some good tips for how I can relax just before an exam as I know that stressing about an exam is the worst thing you can do.
Thanks!

My friend, take it easy.It is just an examination.Well,I think everyone has more or less stress on examination. And my weapon to beating exam stress is chocolate.Yup,chocolate is a magic food which can make you feel happy and easy.If today you will take an exmanition, add a piece of chocolate in your breakfast and then you'll feel better. And don't think much more about the examination, don't give yourself bad psychological imply such as"what can I do if I fail in this exam?".You can encourage youself! When you get up,you can shout loudly"I'm the best one!I can pass the exam!"Well,I hope me response can help you.Good Luck!

hello sorry to here your stressed out, there are lots of natural herbs that help with that and i ve found that when i know i have alot to accomplish in a short amount of time, that if you just think of the prize you are soon to get for all the hard work, it helps also, you can also chew gum or take candy with you such as life savers it is proven that when sucking on the candy helps not only concentration but stress as well, my daughter has a dissorder and it causes her to stress out more during test times and such so i was told to have the teacher allow her to suck on any hard candy to help. i hope all goes well and just believe in yourself, and you'll do great!! i hope this is some help good luck!! tonya

for me it is meditation and deep breathing that worked best. Focus on the positive if you can. Also, a regular break from revision is important,
blessed be

Listen to good music. Music is an amazing thing. It can cure stress...it can make you feel so much better when you are down. It can inspire you. It can push you to go on. Music is almost a cure-all.

I'd say a few minutes before the exam try to think of something extremely funny, like something that has happened before that you still find funny. The others around you may think you are a little nuts when you burst out laughing, BUT at least you will be relaxed.

I use to prepare well for my exams and I have good sleep the previous night. I don't follow any tactics but I don't bother abt my scores after or before writing my exams,I think the stress will be there if you bother too much abt your results.

I know how you feel, i've just been through the whole exam thing (finally finished last month after 4 years of work and exams!).
Its not possible to be perfectly relaxed, you wouldn't be normal if you were because everyone gets a bit nervous, but in my experience the best way to minimise it is to make sure that you have a relaxing night before the exam, i personally always have a bath and lie there reading my notes and relaxing.
The other thing i do is to remind myself that there is nothing else i can do, i have done my revision and worked hard so stressing is pointless, just have a positive mental attitude that because you have done loads of revision you'll do fine.
And if they don't work i've found 4 or 5 pints help to relax me (although doesn't help with the actual passing)

You should relax the night before your major exam. Watch a good movie and go to bed early. Forget about last minute reviews, it'll only confused your mind and really stress you out. Are you taking the board exams or the bar maybe? I hope you do well. Goodluck and pray :)

Taking some sleeping pills can calm you down. But you can sleep in the test which is not so good. Maybe you feel this way because you haven't study enough?
Anything that can calm you down will have a negative effect on the performance of you exam. The best thing you can do is not take anything and deal with the stress. It is also a alway to focus only in the exam.

I usually do some minor reviews days before the exam. Still, a night before one I also get some jitters. What I do is to play on my pc for a while. Get up at dawn (there's something about waking up early that seem to help me condition myself better), drink milk. Yeah, I think that's the best advise I could give you. Try sleeping early then waking up early (even if the exam is on the afternoon).

I just had to go through it myself yesterday, the stress I felt going through my body was seriously horrible. Usually I am quite capable of stopping it by not thinking too much about the exam on the day of the exam itself, like not waking up early to learn extra and such.
But in those moments of real stress I don't think there's a lot you can do to stop it, like I couldn't sleep till about 2 in the night and then woke up at about 5:30 again, no longer being able to sleep. Having all the stuff constantly going through your mind on the things you don't know yet whilst knowing there's so little time left and so much on stake.
I had stress like that a couple times before as well for exams but I must say, so far I have passed all of the tests I made under stress. Usually when being busy with it the stress all tends to flow away, especially on verbal and practical exams.
A bunch of tips I got in high school on beating exam stress was to study in the same place you'd get the exam if possible, go and sleep early the day before the exam after reading a book non-study related to set of your mind and wake up at a decent time. No more studying or looking over in the morning and pack your material the day up front to make you you don't forget anything which could only be causing extra stress.

Is the National Guard on campus? They might be able to get the exams cancelled with their usual blend of personality.

Exams are very stressful especially the final ones or you need to make a certain score to enter into the next phase of your study/graduation/work.
I always found that the night before or a few hours before the exam is really stressfull. My advice is not to think too much about the past or future. I always get stress and i found that its not from the actual exam, but the thought of "what happend if i dont pass this exam?? what will happned to my future? i have been working so hard untill this final moment, what happened if i fail, what will my family think??... and on and on.
Don't think about all these, just focus on the exam, focus on the moment itself. This will calm you down and give you better concentration.
Hope this helps (",)

If you kids prepare good for exams you won't get stress! it's the dull people who feel stress when they think "how to pass the exam, i don't know the answers or i forgot the answers" etcs., with useless thoughts in their mind.
I suggest to go out for a movie or have a good nap at home watever u feel that relief for you!

MY DEAR ,YOU ASKED THE MAIN QUESTION. IS REAL OK, YOU SEE, IS A PROBLEM TO READ AND ANOTHER PROBLEM TO SIT FOR AN EXAMMINATION .YOU CAN ONLY RELAX IN AN EXAMMINATION HALL,WHEN YOU KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE RED.YOU CAN RELAX IF THE QUESTION ASKED WAS WHAT YOU HAD RED.YOU CAN ALSO DO EXPLOITE IF IS WHAT YOU KNOW BEFOR.AND YOU CAN DO THE BEST IF YOU ARE A BRILIANT STUDENT.i HAVE A FRIEND THAT READS 24 HRS,BUT HE HAS NO RETENTIVE MENORY.HIS BRAIN CANNOT RETAIN SOMTHING.HE READS LIKE A PROF BUT AFTER 2 DAYS HE HAS FORGOTEN ALL HE HAS RED.FINALLY,YOU CANONLY RELAX IN AN EXAMMINATION HALL AN WRITE YOUR EXAM BY THE GRACE OF GOD .YOU CAN SEE ,ATIMES YOU WILL BE COPING ANOTHER PERSONS WORK, WHEREAS IS WHAT YOU KNOW,BECAUSE YOU LACK CONFIDENCE ON YOUR SELF .WHEN YOU LACK CONFIDENCE ON YOUR SELF ,TELL ME HOW YOU WILL RELAX AND TAKE YOUR EXAMMINATION.SO MY BROTHER ,IT TAKES GODS GRACE.

Exams are just a word fear ,and to get out of all the mental stresses before the exam , you shoud not keep reading regularly , infact just take a five minutes break before you swith on to every next topic of your subject , just take a walk round your garden ,and listen to one soothing music track , and then start studying again , you feel relaxed and light.

Hi,
I guess that you must be very care of this exam so that you felt stressing, the attitude is more important than the exam,I hope you can trust yourself.
In my opinion, the best way to relax before the exam is listening the music you like, maybe you can try.
best wishes,
Sunny

i've just finished some exams and i am happy to give you advise.First of all you shoul have revised! If you have you find it a lot easy to fous on what you have learnt than what you don't know.also make sure you have everything you need so you dont panic when you found you've forgot something. and most importantly just be calm and if you dont do as well as you hoped it's not the end of the world! xxx
