Finally Moved from Compton California!

Hello, I'm new to Mylot and also new to the State of Georgia. I have been living in Georgia for about 3 months. I was living in California all my life. I'm a 40 year old female. I was living in Compton California for 11 years. You may hear some bad things about Compton in rap music or in the news. Well the part I lived in was just as bad as everyone hears about. They have drive by shootings everyday in the part of Compton I'm from. I had my mattress and box spring on the floor so I wouldnt get shot while sleeping. I feared for my life everyday. I now sleep very well at night. I'm living my dream as a Licened Graphic Designer/Artist. What is it like in your neighborhood? Do you fear for your life?

Welcome to MyLot; glad to have you here. I see you just moved to Georgia and feel much better about the move that is good. Where are you from originally? I live in the Mobile, Alabama area, and in my neighborhood, it is peaceful and all, but I do hear some shots ring out from time to time and there have been some scraps, but no I don't fear for my life where I live.

Hi and welcome to mylot.That is wonderful you have moved to a better place and that you dont have to fear for your life anymore.In my neighboorhood they can get out of control at times.I do plan on moving into a house soon.Congrats on living your dream.Thats right dont only dream them, make them come true.Hopefully soon I will be living mine and that is owning my group home.I have been working hard at it.

I do not fear for my life in my neighborhood. I can't imagine living that way. I am happy for you that you have gotten out of that and are now living your dream.
