that means when you ask a photographer to show his original pic and not the edited one then the edited one is almost fake when compared to the original.
i say this cuz i am a photographer ;)

I guess it depends on how much editing they do to the photo! Not all photographers use photoshop, I personally rarely use ps for more than minor adjustments, but I don't believe that when a photographer edits their photos that they lose authenticity also.

well, when one takes a photo of a person, it would tend to be more un-natural and fake, since the person knows he is being snapped at he or she would tend to give some pose, and this makes the photo look fake, so i guess you are right, nothing compares to seeing the original.

I disagree. Look at ansel adams. He did so much manipulation to his photographs by dodging and burning in the darkroom that his contact sheets would look nothing like the things we see in his books. Also Jerry Uelsmann does manipulative photography by sandwiching his negatives before he puts them in the enlarger, if you look him up you will see that his photography is definately not one frame photography, its very surreal and quite artistic. Both men did their work the old school way, in the darkroom. I look as photographs as the canvas, theres so much you can do to them, especially digitally these days to take them from a snapshot to a work of art :)

I don't know too much about photography, just like photoing. I don't want pics to be modified, and I prefer original ones.
