Well, I do not maintain a personal diary, Because i have the fear of loosing it and some one looking into it and reading that. That might be one of the reason of not maintaining it, it could be that because now a days everyone has cell phone, so as we all know our cell phone works like a organiser as well where in we can write and save everything...thats why till now i did not get habituated to write and maintain a personal diary for me....??Thats the reason why i generally dont maintain a personal diary for myself but i saw so many people love to maintain that. Some people make it a point to update it daily...
What about you Guys....Awaiting for your replies....
Appreciated for your responses....
Bye and Have a great weekend...Take care...:)

Very Good discussion.
Before I reply... I would like to tell you one thing, one of my friend "Martianwoman'..here on mylot started a discussion few days ago, which was like this...that when we start a discussions at mylot and replies to discussions...it is like maintaining a personal diary. I endorse her views, whatever discussions we start here...if someone compiles those discussions and closely analyse those.....he/she will come to know about the person's nature etc.
Now your discussion-
I really wish to maintain a personal diary (but I do not). I have read if you record events of your life in a diary..and read them after some time...it will give your insight into your thinking and you will be able to retorospect yourself and in the process will be able to improve upon yourself. It is indeed a very healthy practice. But perhaphs I am like you...As you say - You have the fear of loosing it and some one looking into it and reading that....I have the same fear. If I write something I would like it to be very very personal and I would not like it to show it to anyone. Because if at all I maitnain a diary...I will record...my inner-most feelings in that. And I think there are some thoughts and feelings which I would like to keep with myself....would not like to share it with anyone. And then the fear that someone read that....will be a problem for me. Because I believe that the person who supposedly read my diary may not be able to interpret my feelings, as I would have written or felt.
I have stored many memories and many good events in my brain. ....and I keep recalling them...till my memmroy fades LOL!.
I think it will be very difficult to save the diary from others...so I would not like to maintain it.
As far as Mobile is concerned, you cannot store everything in that. You can store smaller details of any event. And that too is a risk...if someone dicepher your mobile. I also keep minor details of events in my mobile, besides B'Days and Anniversaries.

Yes Deepak, what you said is absolutely correct.
Almost everyone have the same opinion and feel the same thing about maintaining a personal diary. But frankly speaking i like to write all the things and present in a nice way in my personal diary. But lets c when i can do that....

If you feel like you can write your feelings....that will make you feel better and relieved....and when you read that after sometime say 6 months.....you would be surprised to know that your feelings have changed. Only thing is..you will have to find out the ways to keep it at a safest place....so only you could get hold of that diary.
best of luck!

Like you, I didn't want anyone to read my diaries and journals - and, when I found out my privacy was being stolen from me, I threw away all of my journals from the time I started writing (11) until I was 18. I really regret doing that now and I've kept all my journals from when I started writing again (22) until now (32). They're all in a pile in the corner of my bedroom because, to be honest, I don't really have anything to hid anymore. I trust the people in my life and if they can't handle what I have to write about then that's their problem.

I used to write in one constantly, when I had more time. Now I only write occasionally, when I have some insomniac hours to spare.
I never date entries, and I always write with the same ink so it looks like one continuous story. I try to write it as a story, actually, that's basically the way my mind flows --- I just have the tendency to vividly describe and retell things in a novel-esque format since when I reread it, I want to envision it. Aside from serving as a peronal release of expression, a journal is also a good way to hold onto memories; especially since my brain has been so fried and overloaded with education and stress, I have trouble remembering the seemingly insignificant events that make up my personal life.
