I haven't been that long here at MyLot...but maybe this is really great and geared toward you folks that have been here awhile....Cause I sure do get confused...I'm talking about keeping track of all the discussions one has started and all the ones I've replied to...Now I know we can keep track by 1). Those e-mail notices we get now...and 2). By looking at one's profile and click to the Discussions I've Started/Discussions I've Replied to...but I'm still confused in keeping a good track---I really try to make an effort to respond to those who have responded to my discussions, and I like to keep track of the ones I've replied to, in case the person has made a comment back to mine...but YIKES..sometimes my head swims a bit..uh, lost it?
Does anyone else get confused or is it just me???

I am not...I do remember all discussions and I like to come back to all discussions I have respond to first...I open my email and see who start new discussion...it doesn't mean I respond to all...
I like new e-mail notifications and I keep it only for few friends including you...:)))))

Relax, breathe! Now be easy on yourself, please? You will find out you are not alone with this. You might miss some, but i think thats normal. After awhile you will get most and fall into a rythym. I reckon it is never too late to reply. Your not doing homework that must get done or you have to stay after school to finish it! LOL!
Take care Pyewacket.

I'm not confused at all. I don't have many discussions to worry about and if someone puts in a reply to a discussion of mine that one moves to the top of the list. It is the same with discussions you have replied to, if someone responds it goes to the top of the list.....I go through the list till I see last response is 1 day old. then I know I am all caught up.

It sometimes really get difficult to keep track, specially for discussions who are buried deep in "discussions i've responded to". The email notices, you are talking about are really helpful but not very reliable for me. you may not have experienced this but I sometimes don't get email notification of replies to my comments specially when there is a cascade of replies.
Just today, had it not been for my habit of checking back regularly I could have missed a reply to my comment which i didn't get email notice of. In fact there has been some discussions that i replied to and I got replied but didn't know till I did my weekly thorough check back i.e. going back to all discussions once in a week. It is getting burdensome as my posts are increasing and it takes a hell lot of time. But I can't help feeling guilty for not replying to where it was needed.
Almost 50% of my time is spent in this daily activity of checking back:-) and as I grow in my post rating, I am getting slower and slower in growth just because of this habit. If only, I could be sure and certain that email notification will work perfectly, I would be able to add more and grow faster:-) Best of luck to all and happy posting:-)

It took me a while to get the hang of it. I now have a routine that I go though when I sign on. I don't use the e-mail notification because I already get too many e-mails. I look through the discussions I've started to see the responses I get. If I see something that I want to reply to, I do. After that I go to see the discussions that my friends started and send responses to any discussions that I think I can add to. If I still have time, when I'm done with all that, I'll start inviting friends from discussions that I find interesting, or I'll go inot todays top discussions or another discussion fields.

You aren't alone. I used to get really confused but now that we get the email notifications it makes it so much easier. Now I know when someone has responded and I can go back and respond. It makes it so much easier.
As for knowing if I responded to a discussion when I'm looking for new ones well once I post to a discussion I rate it. This way I know when I open it for sure whether I have responded. It makes it much easier. I admit there are some older ones where I did do this but for the most part it helps to keep me from posting to the same one twice.

well its not easy. I don't worry too much about it. I doubt anyone can keep track of everyone they have responded too or discussions they have started. All you can do is try your best. and if you miss a few people don't fret too much about it. Most people understand.

I think when you respond to a lot of discussions as well as receiving responses to a discussion or two that you started yourself, it can get very confusing. Thats why I like the email notifications for new responses.
I find that with these it's easy enough to keep track of who's responded and who hasn't.
At the same time though, I'm like you. I tend to lose track of who's who, especially since I delete the emails after I've read them lol. Added to which, it's not too hard to confuse me anyway :o)

Same with me here. I do have some confusion to tracking down any discussion that i response. When I still have few amount of posts, that's not hard to do. But now, it's getting harder and harder. I only able to track down discussion that I remembered the most.

LOL - I understand your confusion.
It was much worse when they didn't notify you when you had a reply from someone elses discussion. I had a folder of discussions in my bookmarks that I would go and check on once a week or so. And delete them if they lay dormant for a while.

I think we all get confused at times. Just do the best you can, and if you miss one once in a while, try to catch it later. As for the email responses, I have all of them filtered into a MyLot folder and then delete them as I take care of them. That way, no matter how far behind I get, they will still be there waiting for me to catch up and I won't get quite so lost. I can't say I still don't get lost, but at least not quite so badly.

I get like this too my friend so u are not alone. I find i have to keep a scribbler on all this stuff and i have to do my mylotting n a system so i dont leave anything or anybody out. Sometimes i have to spend so much time looking at comments made back on my responses and marking best responses and rating and thanking for best responses that i dont have time to make a post or a new discussion that night but i try to pass myself and do a little of each but keeping a scribbler handy to write down all my mylot stuff really is a godsend for me to keep it all from overwhelming me give it a try see if it helps you.

What really gets confusing is this...I always naturally like to check the responses I get for my discussions...and that seems to be fairly okay with the newer ones I've started..but then out of the blue one of my older ones comes up...and I always like to check if when I've made a response, how the person who started the discussions replied to my reply...eekkk!
