Over 91 000 mylot members but how many are "active"?

This is really just me thinking out aloud....
Excuse me if this question has been asked before but does anyone have any idea how many of the 91 000 odd members are actually posting discussions on here? I see the same people posting discussions - not that that is bad - but my estimate is a few hundred are posting on here, certainly not thousands or 10's of thousands. What are your thoughts?

I know what you mean...it's like there's a little club of us regulars who are posting all the time...and most of them are my friends..LOL...I sometimes get concerned too, since I've noticed that some of my listed friends haven't been here in quite awhile..and I wonder, gee, I hope nothing serious has happened to them-do you have that in your friends collection too.."missing" members??

I have only been here about three months - in that time I have noticed some friends have gone "AWOL". :-)

This may be just a guess, but I would be willing to bet that there's less than 5000 active members here. You are right, I see the same names on the discussions all of the time. It would seem to me that it would be to Mylots advantage to limit the amount of time a member can remain inactive. That way we would have a more realistic number. Terry

I believe more than half members not active and from the actives the most didn't start new discussions often...including me lol:.
If mylot deleted some members after not 1-2 weeks but at least 1-2 months not active will be better...we will know exactly how the things are here.

I'm on here everyday and from 147 friends I currently have, only about 5 or 10 actively responding to my topics and about 20 to 40 I saw their topics, either with or without responses. This is just me, so maybe I could say 20 to 30% of my friends are active posters. When it comes to the whole 90,000 members, the percentage could go even lower

Hi LittleMel...you've really thought this through ;-) I would probably say 10%-20% of people on my friends list are active...sounds like you have more "active" friends. LOL

I won't know this if I'm not active myself LOL so to them, I must be one of their active friends :)

I have found that with nearly all sites I have joined, when people have joined in my downline that they have not bothered posting anything at all from the outset.
On some sites their e-mail address if visible so you can e-mail with some encouragement or let them know if you have started a new discussion. You can only leave message on myLot though an they will only get them if they visit the site. I am kept busy with the friend that post regularly though. :-)

There are over 105,000 now, and less interesting discussions than there ever were. It sometimes makes me wonder as members deactivate, whether they reduce the number. I've never seen it go down.
Brightest Blessings.

i always had this question at the top of my head.i only think there are a few hundred people active here.it doesnt look like thousands are active.i have 6 referrals under me who did nothing more than signing up and they have 0 posts or discussions under them.so it is really that only a few are alive here.there are so many who i amde friends with in the beginning when i started are no longer active here anymore.some people say they ll never leave mylot but that doesnt seem to be the case.there are new people signing in and people leaving at the same time.

Interesting question. I've not really noticed. There seem to be so many discussions that I can't begin to count the members who post them.
I think it is so amazing that so many people are communicating, connecting the world this way. I hope it helps us heal the world and promote peace. It is harder to be hateful toward any group of people when you know someone in that group to be kind, even loving. We ARE all connected and when we hurt anyone it also hurts us.
I hope those who are not posting discussions are at least responding to some.

I think there could be up to 1000 active members, it depends on how you define active. There are a lot of people that only post once in a while and then there are people who post everyday...

I believe you're right, anyone can register but whether they decide to use the site and become - and remain - active or not is a big question.
For myself, I'm only active when I'm not busy with work. Sometimes work takes me overseas, so I could be inactive for weeks or months at a time.

Yea I agree with you I dont think every single person on here is posting discussions on here. When you look at different topics you can see when the last time someone posted something was or sometimes they have nothing at all. You always see the same people over & over posting things..which isnt bad at all.

No it's not bad at all gorgeous..and like Jimbo says - the less that are active the more money theorectically to be shared amongst those that ARE active.

I don't think anybody, including myLot admin know how many members here are actually active. I would not be surprized if it was under half the official numbers.

I can´t tell you how many of all members are posting discussions, but certainly not all of them. It´s true, it seems that it´s always the same people who start discussions. Others might prefer responding to posting or they are simply not active at all. Some members leave and their accounts are still visible, even though they might be gone for good or they just pop in now and again. Others have taken a break from the site. Just imagine if each of the 91 000 members posted every day. There would be an avalanche of discussions and it would be even more difficult than now to find a new topic to post. I post maximum one discussion a day, the rest of the time I respond to my friends discussions and my interest section.
Happy mylotting.

Yes, there are over 91,000 mylot members but I'm sure that less then one half are active. I think the reason you see the same people who post discussions is because they are more active. Yeah, I don't think thousands are posting here on mylot everyday, but then there are also those that just make responses. These are my thoughts!

Good Question they should also have how many are active I have come across a few that havent logged in since months ago, or only around the time they joined... Would be good to see How many actually here daily or on a weekly basis.... I try to log on each day and at least post in one discussion, if I don't have much time to spend here.....

I have been her for two weeks, but I have also noticed that most discussions are posted by the same members, But I think it depends on the interest. There is an interest for every thing here on mylot from cats, dogs, food & Ect. so I think the members we don't see post from are those who have different interest.
