I'll have to AGREE... What I like about Java is that:
1) It's open-source
2) It's an OOP (object oriented programming) Language
3) It's stable
4) It's flexible
5) It's not easy to use but learning it is worth while!
I hope you get my point.. hhahaha

Ya,what i like about java is the GUI (Graphical User Interface), it makes me happy everytime I see the output of my imagination. Now I am in Jave Networking using sockets and IP Address for detections. I already made my own version of notepad and paint.

I agree but it needs time to master java. I recommend Visual Basic, it is easy, you can make it flexible if you want, robust, and more secure as long as you know the program you're making.

I love Java. It is the most efficient and simplest language. Thats the reason Java is ruling the world for the past 12 years and more. I believe Java will continue to rock the Programming world for ever. You have everything you need in Java. Once you know the basics of Java, it becomes the simplest language.
I sometimes used to wonder, how well thought the Java Programming language has been designed. Java and J2EE will be the best programming language for ever.

Yeah, I think java is the best for the moment, Its OOP concept is more strict than CPP, but that's the benefit, It helps you to keep your code organized and maintainable...
And the most significant part, there's a giant behind Java named SUN :)
