We have been beekeepers for 30 years and had 1200 colonies until this spring, when only 50% survived the winter. We know the bees had sufficient honey supplies. Varoa Mites ( a tiny bee predator) could be a factor, but were not the cause. This dieoff is prevalent in the US, Canada, Europe and Brazil, and therefore was not caused entirely by the strange winter we have just experienced.
Cell phone towers have been blamed, but we have had them for many years and nothing like this has happened before.
What do you think?

WE are in Ontario Canada not far from Toronto. The early months of winter were unseasonably warm. Then 1t turned very cold and windy which is hard on the bees in the Hive.
However, we believe there were other circumstances which caused the high mortality in the honeybees.
