Right we need a laugh on here to cheer us all up a bit and I know it is going to be at my Expense but I do not mind as I need to cheer my lovely Friends up
I do not normally tell this part of my misdemeanors but I guess I will today
Oh my God this is so awful well here I go
About 15 years ago I had a little Yorkshire Terrier and again he was my Baby he was also one sweet little Dog that I rescued from a bad Home. Friends and us decided to have a Day out the weather was lovely. The Men wanted to go fishing so we all found this great Spot where the Men could fish, the Kids could play and my Friend and I did whatever. Of course I had my little Dog with me. Everyone was doing their own thing. It had been raining the Day before and there was wet ground about. Now I can not wear low healed Shoes, so I was wearing my white high heeled shoes, yes I know but that is me lol. Anyway we all decide to go to a different Spot and I decided to take Sherry (my Dog) down to the Field for a bit to exercise him. The others where walking on the Bank. Now my Friends Husband did say I would not walk down there with your Shoes you never know what is there and they where laughing. I told him to shush that I will be ok.
The ground was a bit soggy and I have to admit I was starting to regret it a bit as the white Shoes where not that white anymore, so of I trot with Sherry, next thing Mel who was 5 then shouts Mummy Cows, well I thought she was calling me a cow so I shouted back and said well no need to call me a cow just because I am walking on the Field. Next thing everyone said I think you better start running Gabs look behind you.
I turned around and I could not believe what I was seeing, at the same time Sherry saw them and started to bark which of course set of the Horror I am trying to run in white Stilletos Heels in a muddy field with Sherry in my Arms (who is still barking wanting to play with them) being chased by cows, everyone was laughing apart from Mel and Mike, they just watched not knowing what to do. Next thing Mike Shouts come on Mummy you can do it do on you are nearly there. Well I did not find that funny, these Cows where chasing me and they all thought it was funny. I got away to safety my shoes ruined totally, Sherry still barking and the others laughing that much they could not talk
I screamed at them all I punched the Men and then I had a Huff on all Day.Every time they spoke to me I told them to Shut up I did not want to speak to any of them, they just laughed again. I was upset about my shoes. I mean a Day out was not suppose to turn into a Day of Gabs being chased by Cows for everyones Entertainment. Believe me I never lived it down and it still gets mentioned today at times by the Kids
Oh I slept well that night as I was tired from the Exercise, the Shoes where totally ruined and went in the Bin and I refused to cook tea that night

There's something about cows and dogs because this happened once in Yorkshire when I was visiting my brother and we all went for a walk with the dog, which had to cross a cow field, at the bottom end. The cows had calves, which might have had something to do with it. Toby stopped and barked at the cows, who were mooing madly and edging towards us as though to distract us from their calves. I left my brother with Toby and the cows and hacked out of the field with my Son, his wife and their two kids, together with sister-in-law and her two kids. I guess the cows felt 'invaded' by so many people entering their field at once. Toby certainly didn't help though, as he wanted to warn them to keep back and leave us alone. lol.
I didn't wear high heels though Gabs. That was a little foolish... a pair of flats spare, just to walk across muddy fields, might have been a good idea. :-)
Brightest Blessings my dear friend. Love and hugs. x

While walking in the Delightful English Countryside we decided to take the short way across a Farmer's Field. Then we noticed a herd of cattle grazing happily by the footpath. We were just about to climb the style when I perceived a small sign afixed to the fence. It said, "You can cross this Field for Free, but the Bull Charges!" Needless to say we continued down the road...

Hi Gabs, Oh dear that is not good that you could not wear the appropriate shoes due the ground being soggy. Oh I bet that your shoes were ruined you poor thing fancy cows chasing you. I do not blame you as well that you did not want to cook dinner that night but thanks for sharing part of your life with us and I would of hated cows to chase me. xx

I am trying to visualize scene which took place in fields. Had I been around, I would have laughed loud also. It sounded funny really. But I have never seen cows chasing humans like this in fields. Cows are one of the cowards animals. They run away after watching strangers around them. After all most of the creatures in this world are afraid of humans. I guess you are only to blame your doggie hehe. He might have attracted cows chasing you both in fields. Shoes part is funny also, you should have gone to fields barefoot hehe. Wish I was around with camera to shoot the scene. Trust me it would have won you OSCAR haha for playing games with poor Cows lol. Hey sorry for being annoying and irritating, thanks for sharing this part of your life with us.

That was such a "moo"ving story and "udder"ly ridiculous. Sorry, I could not resist. And I am not even going to tell you that I am not laughing because that would be a lie. I can picture this very well. All I can say is at least you didn't fall into some cow poo.lol.

Was it something during the 70s or 80s to give women stiletto addiction?
My mother in law is very well exercised, she walks several miles pretty much every day to the shops etc. (up a steep hill) but cannot walk in flat shoes. When I asked her, it's not even vanity, she's just worn crazy shoes for so long, anything else besides flip-flops or killer heels are uncomfortable!
Days lke that are magic! My father and step-mother still recount (at least once a year) the day my brother fell into a rock pool, but pretended it was on purpose to catch a crab. Memories like those are what bring families together. I bet all the laughs you've had since then are worth much more than that pair of shoes!

I do feel bad that you had to go through all of that. But I can't stop myself from laughing at the visuals that went through my mind as I was reading. I can just picture you with those cows hot on your heels....high heels at that. Hahahahaha! At least you got a good night's sleep out of the whole ordeal. LOL

Oh Gabs..such interesting things happen to you. I wish you were my neighbour ...there would never be a dull moment. I was sorry to hear about the shoes and I can't help but wonder why the beasties chased you. Maybe they had calves and were worried about your doggy.
My friend has cattle and also a little terrier, (of indiscriminate breed, a little cutie I named Blinky Bill) and Blinky Bill goes everywhere with my friend even when he goes to water his animals. She becomes very ferocious and thinks she's a cattle dog and all the cows stand back and look at her going crazy (she's on a long lead attached to the farm truck)as if to say "what on earth is that little thing making such a fuss about?" It's very funny but loud too.

lol now i will tell you mine!
I was not married then my then boyfriend now hubby and my brother took me fishing we ended up in a field they were fishing then they both dropped there fishing rods and ran leaving me in a field full of bulls, i shot up a tree tearing my TShirt exposing a lot of chest lol and i had to stop there for over an hour as the bulls decided to watch over me!
boyfriend was laughing to start with then he realised how frightened i was and got my brother to fetch a ladder i had to climb to the other side of this huge tree and try to reach the ladder, i couldn't i ended up falling into the biggest cow pat you can imagine lol
I was stung by nettles and sore and then i cried which was obviously the best cause of action as boyfriend scooped me up put me in his nice clean car and took me home for a bath i sat there in his big TShirt drinking a lot i needed to for the shock i was 16 and he daren't take me home because of the state of me, he phoned my mum told her i had fallen of a ladder and his mum thought it best i stopped the night as i was so shaken up!

LOL, I'm trying to picture a girl in hi-heels carrying a dog out in a cow pasture being chased by cows. I'm sorry, that just sounds like the funniest thing I could think of. I more than likely would have been there laughing so hard I would have fallen over. I'm glad to know that you and your dog made it out okay, but I've never really seen cows chaseing people before. Thanks for the laugh, Terry

Gabs, thanks for giving me my smile of the day. What a cute story. I never would have worn high heels out if I was going to be doing a lot of walking...those days are over for me. Give me a nice pair of flats any time. I can imagine how tired you were after all you went through that day, but at least you slept well.

I'm sorry for your shoes and your embarassment but you have to admit it would have been a funny site.Having been raised on a farm I can assure you the cows wouldn't have hurt you and if you'd have stopped running they would have too.But if you don't know cows then you couldn't have known that.Just be glad you didn't step and slip in any cow piles.;-)
