Every morning or evening when I log on, I find discussions about lost posts, lost revenue,MyLot does not pay enough, etc. The fact is that MyLot does not have to pay, lots of forums do not. If we do not follow the guidelines, we are subject to have our discussions removed. If we answer questionable posts, our responses may be removed with those posts. Does anyone ever come on and post postives? I am sure that they happen. I logged on this morning, and the update has not yet been made. I have ten cents MORE in my account than I did just before midnight last night. That represents 3-5 posts. Changes in your account happen, and they can and do go both ways. It especially happens a lot around payout, and it happens to me every month.

I have seen an increase in my earnings as well. I don't think that people post the positives as much, because they don't think about them. BUT when something bad happens or something that angers them..watch out. All the copy & paste posts have been circulating lately, the rants and raves on people copying from others or from the web. then you have the "I will report anyone for anything" posts. Basically telling everyone that if they don't follow every rule to the tee, they might as well kiss their account good bye. The "Mylot dleted my discussion/missing money" posts are popular as well that you have brought up. "My friends don't respond, I should dlete them" or the best of the best "I AM LEAVING MYLOT" posts. I love those. I just try to live and let live, and do my best to answer what I can. Hope you have a great day !! Excellent post by the way.

I appreciate you expanding on my discussion. I have not seen all of the ones you have listed. It is easier to focus on what is wrong, I thought it would be nice to celebrate what is right.

LOL. Well said, my friend. My earnings increased too, by some 23 cents. This is probably because of the discussions which have been deleted, in a roundabout kind of way. Deleted discussions leave more revenue to be shared amongst those who have posted quality discussions and responses. It's not difficult to stick to within the guidelines and if people don't, they can only expect their work to be deleted. I too, get somewhat perturbed at the number of discussions moaning about deletion. They STILL can't see what they did wrong. Well, I can, so they need to ascertain what the guidelines are and refrain from giving us all a hard time sifting past their discussions, in order not to lose points ourselves.
Thank you for this, and have a great day.

It happened to me today also. I got a nice small increase in my Mylot pot this morning. I think Mylot is watching us more than we realize and I am happy and extremely grateful to Mylot, not only for the monthly revenue in my Paypal, but for all the lovely friends and support that I have encountered here. I have far more blessings to count on Mylot, than complaints and I think personally, if people are not happy with Mylot, then they should not bother with it. I know we all have a right to complain if something has gone wrong, but not to the point that we want to earn money by slagging off Mylot. That is below the belt for me.

I agree with you, I have seen lots of negative posts blatantly and plagiarism. Yesterday two of my friends got ripped off, with someone blatantly copying and pasting their discussions. The sad thing is he admitted it, his excuse was he is doing it for the money because he is poor. I checked this morning he was still here. People will never stop to amaze me.

I kow what you mean, gardengerty. There seems to be a lot of members complaining on a lot of issues. I have a friend who lost 50 points within 5 days. I find it quite ridiculous to have lost so much. Will that mean she was responding to a lot of nonsense or questionable discussions. I do hope mylot will post or alert each one of us and explained things clearly. I've seen some quality posts that are deleted too.
Some members maybe responding to discussions that are against mylot rules. I don't know. I have three friends who are beginning to get disheartened because of this thing going around here.

I have seen the discussions about lost points, lost discussions, lost responses ... Instead of just doing something redundant, it is explained here at:
http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1078517.aspx
Also, forum software, whether it is phpBB, Invision, there is a pruning feature in which when the discussion/thread/topic has not been touched in a long time, it gets automatically deleted. I think it is the same thing here.

Thanks for the info and the link. It is as I had supposed, somewhat, but not entirely. Good two pronged explanation, wish I could give you a best response. Thanks for the link. This person has removed me from his friends list. Oh, well.

I think I can somewhat speak for him. It was nothing personal against you or anyone that he purged his friends on his friends list. I think he did that & had all his postings purged to try to "buy" storage space on the MyLot server hard drives.

While I was typing my reply there was not a BR link, and now there is., so I gave it to you, you deserve it. I also did not mean to seem so uncaring about a deleted friend, but I am not going to beat myself up over it. It bothered me last night when I tried to pm him. I have too many jobs to sit and ponder too much. Thanks again, friend.

Thanks for this post. I like to think that the most positive way to deal on mylot is to do so from the heart. The trick is, you have to believe and respond from your heart and that will help you to write in such a way that will provide "Quality" post. I also think one should not get too worked up by the pay. If you enter mylot thinking you will get rich, it says that you're probably quite greedy. Treat the payment as a bonus, keep posting because you like posting and before you know it, you can get yourself a decent pile of cash.

yes i feel you. some other forums do not pay and yet some people always complain about mylot paying a little amount or deducting from their account.
For me i think they are doing a good job and people have turned mylot into a money making venture rather than a discussion forum where you can come and relax. I haven't earned any money from mylot because i rarely come on here and when i do i come over to enjoy it

I also found that the most responses I ever get, is when I post a discussion about My Lot. Funny isn't it. I always thought they were the most boring. If I post a discussion about an ethical or moral issue, I don't get many responses at all.
People probabnly want to complain a lot, abou My Lot, bu it usually gets them responses.

This ios very common since I've been on mylot.com It has changed to a certain degree, it's very hard to keep this notin with 100% conviction. But hey we're learning that there are some making the effort. My biggest deal is to just answer to as many discussions mylot friends post which effect me.

Everything you say is true. When I logged on this morning I had about five cents more than the night before. I did read the terms of use and I also read the FAQS. This helped me to navigate my way around Mylot enough that for me it's been a totally positive experience.

I agree, the negativity is frustrating. I know changes will occur and, like many, I'll just go with the flow. What's the sense in making public, ranting and raving and just causing a stir? I choose to use this site as a portal for learning as much as I can and, hopefully, teaching as much as I can. I've been trying to focus on topics I know well so that others can benefit from what I'm posting. This may not always be the case - like what I read may not always benefit me in some way. I still choose to work in this capacity, though and, to me, that's a positive thing. Thank you for posting this discussion and giving so many the opportunity to share their thoughts on this matter.

Well, I know how hard it is to get a dollar here lol! but now, I've come to use mylot in a more productive way and that is to improve my English. I've learned and improve a lot from this site. I'm going to use this to practice and be able to learn from the english native speakers. I envy Filipinos who have a very fluent English. I'm going to persevere if they can do it, I sure can!

Who would have ever thought it? Negativity does not pay, huh? I have always been of that opinion. I guess it goes back to my outlook on life. Did I hear you think? What is his outlook on life? My outlook on life is the same as my blood type...B Positive. Does anyone else have an opinion?

Hi Gardengerty, Yes I have seen this happen many times while being a member close to 5 months now but I do think that if we are doing something wrong that mylot should at least make an alert to members so that members stop doing what ever is wrong and correct it at least give them this opportunity. As I have seen some of my discussions removed and was accused of one member of copying from somewhere on the internet which I did do a couple I will admit to that but my health discussion I have never copied those and they accused me of this as well. When I went nnd seen where I was suppose to get these from I have never been there in my life. But from today onwards I will put suitable discussions for all.

Yes, there is a lot of complaining and negativity and it's all rather boring. I rarely see any of the bad goings on that people mention, sure, my earnings fluctuate but that's natural and I think I've had posts deleted at least one, and I know for sure a response was deleted but I don't know why. So what!??
Some go on and on about it. They whinge about copy/paste, stealing discussions, non quality posts and responses etc.
This forum is very well set up and if people would just follow the guidelines as you say, things would be even better. If someone has an issue....contact admin as you are advised to do. Please don't go whinging in your posts. Just keep the forum for the correct activity as admin have asked.
I imagine on the other hand that some folk would be whinging to admin every 5 minutes as well.
Doing a great job Mylot...keep up the good work.

it seems to me that some people just want to gripe about anything and everything...no matter what. i was choosing a best response to some of my unresolved discussions the other day. i had one person who kept saying "Well, I know that mylot is going to remove this and take away all of our points, but I'm going to try and respond anyway. But you should be warned that they'll take this completely off of here because they always do." The posts were from a month earlier, and nothing had been removed!

I think we are very lucky that we are being paid just for discussing different topics that we talk about everyday. I would definitely stay here even if they weren't paying us. It's nice to have people that like to talk about anything you want to, and will give you the best response that they can.
