Do you have a schedule for your housework?

I do mine haphazardly, but never feel that it's completely clean and tidy. I love it when I've gone through the whole house in one day, (yikes) and look around at the end of the day and it looks nice. But that happens very rarely. So, I try to tell myself to do a room a day and then it won't be such a big job all at once. But I never seem to stick to that resolution and fall back into the haphazard thing. I have a story and a half house, so I quite often will do the entire upstairs, bedrooms and bathroom, one day of the week, and then try to do the downstairs, living room, dining room and kitchen another day. I should really take an entire day just for the kitchen. I think that my problem is that I have too many extras to do in a week and tend to put off the housework. But after 50 years of housework, it's getting a little mundane and boring, boring, boring!

I've made so many schedules I've used up reams of paper, I'm sure, only to fall into my own crazy schedule.

Right you are! it is difficult to maintain a routine for household work for me also. I also sometimes take resolutions to fulfil my work by maintaining a routine but terribly fail to do that!!
