Comfort Eating and Snacking...

It's not been the best of days for me today, and I seem to have my mind on food, probably for comfort eating, so having dispensed with nuts, I'm now thinking of what Snack I like. I don't have any in, which is probably not a bad thing, but I did have a bit of chocolate, so that's been demolished. ha ha ha
Right, back to snacks... there are corn snacks and crisps or potato chips as they're called in the U.S.A. I can think of quite a few flavours and varieties, so let's start with a list of those I like, starting from favourite down.
Of the corn snack variety, Doritos, cheese ones, preferably with a salsa dip, then Skips, then Monster Munch, preferably the pickled onion flavour, then Cheese Balls, Chip Sticks, oh, and I'm sure there are loads more which I can't remember of the top of my head... oh, Bacon Fries and Cheese Moments. Cheese Moments are lovely!!!
Then Crisps... my all time favourites are Pringles.. any flavour will do, lol., then Chip Sticks, Hula Hoops, plain, and then Nobby's Plain Crisps, followed by Salt and Vinegar flavour. Again, there are hundreds of makes and flavours on the market, so let's see how many we can cover between us.
What are your favourite snacks... corn snacks, crisps, twiglets, or do you prefer Pork Scratchings? What is your Preference?

Me neither, Gabs. They seem to have become harder too, where they used to be quite crispy, but I do like Pork Scratchings. Twiglets don't seem quite the same either. Perhaps my tastes have changed.
Thank you for your response my dear friend. Brightest Blessings, love and hugs. x

Sorry your day isnt that good. Hope it improves. When i am having an off day, i turn to food. Well, any day i turn to food. I think it is comfort eating. I had doritos this afternoon. But put salsa over them, and grated cheese and put in oven. Verrrry nice! I like cheese dips, twisties, sweet chilli and sour cream chips, and chocies. Anything really. Dip and jatz go down well, too. I made a corn relish dip yesterday and still some left. Sounds tempting.
Well, best wishes to you, darkwing. Hope you feeling brighter soon.

I havent had chilli con carne for a long time. I used to love it, as long as not too spicy. The kids dont eat it, but maybe a small batch for myself sounds good. I seem to be talking a lot about food today, both on here and on the phone.
Hope you have a good day.

Oh dear, oh my. I was just thinking about comfort food earlier in the day.
Mine would be chips, chocolate, pizza, and fuji apple, pears, and grapes.
For chips, I agree with you totally on Pringles, just love the taste and texture of it. Cheetos and Doritos come close. For local fare, I chose Granny Goose Tortillos in Cheese, Piattos in Sour Cream and Onion, and E-aji Nachos with salsa dip.
For chocolate, mostly I chose dark because it has lower fat and sugar content. Hehe. Toblerone, Van Heuten, and Lindt. Oh and the biggest bar of Swiss Noir, just heavenly. Local chocolates aren't so good unless you buy from the specialty store, then you get the best.
Pizza, vegetarian if there's any available. I love Sbarro's Spinach pizza. For local, it's Chef D'Angelo's vegetarian pizza. Yellow cab is fab as well but too much oil if you ask me. There's also one here called Monster Bite and boy its the biggest pizza I ever did see. Not so yummy though.
As for the fruits, well, I still consider it quite sinful because I eat loads of them in one sitting. As in bowlfuls.
These foods never fail to take out of a rut.

Our snacks may be of a much different taste than yours. Apart from potato wafers, spicy corn mixture and the like we have a variety of ethnic preparations made of rice flour.

Yes, we have the ethnic style, rice flour ones, as well, but I didn't have the word power that you have, to describe them! lol. Sorry about that. They come in anything from rusk size, to small, coin-sized snacks, and are quite pleasant to eat. In fact, there's a Thai one which I'm rather partial to. :-)
Potato wafers, I guess, is your name for crisps, or potato chips? I think those are worldwide snacks, almost.
Thank you for your response, Sukumar, and Brightest Blessings.

I am familiar with the situation you have described. When it is "snack" time, which
unfortunately, can happen at anytime of the day when I am at home, anything "visible" will be demolished. This bulldozer of mine does not pick and choose. It will just raze and ravish whatever debris it can find.

I love apples, tropical fruit cocktail, grapes, baby carrots, nuts of all kinds, dryed fruits.I'm not very fond of chips or any of those snacks but do eat them once in a while.I would most often choose fresh fruits and veggies.I do have a weekness for ice cream , yogurt , and curd cheeses.
