Does society still follow the unwritten rules of friendship?

When I was growing up my grandmother was a great influence in my life! She taught me that there are unwritten rules to friendships! They are as follows... 1. Always be there for your friend for there will be that one day you will need them just as badly! 2. Never lie to your friends! 3. Never steal your friends man or a man that she has admitted to you that she likes! 4. Never date your friends ex boyfriends/husbands! Just causes drama!!! 5. Men may come and men may go but a best friend will be there always! 6. You may not like what your friend is doing but support them anyway for it is just apart of who they are and if you love them you love them for all their faults!!! You never know you might be able to help them with their problem but be a unjudgemental support! 7. Friends will come in and out of your life but a true friend will never forget you or loose contact! 8. Time changes all friendships...just as in life friendships change and grow! If you can think of anymore you was taught let me know I would love to see them! But truely does society still live by these old rules?? I dont think so... just look at the friendships you see... paris hilton taking her friends boyfriends (bad friend)... courtney cox arquette and jennifer anistan always there for each other (good friends) !!!! You be the judge...
