Oh My Gawd! Too Funny In My Eyes

My wife wanted an onion bed so I planted about 50 green onions in a small area that was free in my backyard. Now she decided to use up the cement chunks from our steps we replaced last year as a barrier from our dog Buster. Now that they are laid out I swear this looks like a pets grave site. What do you think? Isn't it very similiar to a loved pets grave? I'm looking for a neat little phrase along death and onions for a headstone possibly. Any suggestions? Hahaha. Check out the photo attatched please.

Hey Bob ... don't mean to insult your wife, but you need to lose the cement steps from the garden .. does look like a gravesite, you could put "Here lies the onion, full of life at one time ..."

It does look like that. So did it work to keep Buster out of the onions? I have no great head stone ideas. Unless you put future home of Buster the onion digging dog. Just kidding ofcourse. I love green onions I should plant some when we move.

he keeps out of it now that they have broken ground. I think the scent bothers him as he sneezes iof he gets too close to the onion "bed".

Hahaha i know what you mean. All it needs is a little cross at the top! If it was alot bigger you could scare the neighbours into thinking its a human grave ;) Hope you enjoy your onions when they are ready.

The onion bed sure does look like a grave or sorts! That is too funny. I wish I was creative enough to come up with a cute little phrase for your onion bed headstone, maybe somethign will pop up and I will email you soon, sometimes I surprise myself! LOL

well i think you guys should shape it like a rectangle or square. then maybe it would look like more of a garden. as for the stones hmmm can't you find a smaller one? hehehe.
happy gardening!!

It doesn't look like our pet grave site! My daughter always puts up a wooden cross, with the animals name on it. Flowers are usually placed ariund the cross.
I know where one dog is buried in our yard, but it is a secret from the kids.
Seriously, it looks exactly like my garden patch out the front, only youyrs is larger. I had some left over rocks, so put it around a garden bed, & then put nasturims in it.As they are seasonal, I am looking for winter flowering plants.

I wanted to go out and buy some nice decorative rocks for this but the wife insisted on the cement chunks from the steaps. Hahaha.
Here's one I just thought of, "No walking on these steps anymore."

Hi bob it indeed does look like a place to put a body, and for a head stone I would put "here lies the thieves who took my beloveds onions. May they rest in peace as I won't get any until I have you in the ground, and a new crop of onions using You for fertilizers this is the third time this summer. RIP

my friend Jason says it looks like a campground or an Indian ritual of some sorts. i kida agree...but i also agree that it looks a little like a beloved pet's burial site. Onions are DEADLY to dogs (which i am assuming you know) so it is a good thing that you are putting up a border for Buster. i think ome of them should say stuff about dying from smelling onion breath...silly things like that. Have fun with it, Bob!

yeah that is the main appearance of it. A campground fire ring but I prefer saying grave./ hahaha! Does that make me morbid in the least?

I must admit picture is funny. But your wife might not like your comments with regards grave thing. Instead using cement chunks you could have used bushes and some sticks to cover the area. It would atleast have given a better look as in Hut. What about planting roses on the boundaries where you have put in those cement chunks? I bet it would turn to be a paradise. It could be a best gift you could give to your wife.

It doesn't look like a grave site to me. But it does look like a flower garden. As I know alot of people who use rocks to line their flower gardens...Good luck with your wives onion bed. I hope you get plenty.

I know others that use "rocks" also. But these are chunks of cement.
My old stairs from out front. But yeah it's still an "onion bed". I haven't killed my dog for climbing ther fence yet. Hahaha!

LOL Grandpa Bob. You can have a lot of fun with this when Halloween time rolls around :) It does resemble a grave however I have to give your wife credit for using an otherwise useless resource for a good reason. She's a smart cookie! Not only do you have a barrier for the dog and the lawn mower, you also have a great conversation starter and a Halloween decoration. ;)

How about "Onions to die for" ? I don't know "dying for an onion" ? Any way I have to agree with everyone else here it looks like a grave. Could be human grave also not just a pet's :O

Here lies Jake, or what ever name you want to use. Still on the job.... now he is keeping the onions growing and futerlized and he remains on the job. Poor old guy our beloved friend good to the last bite. LOL
Yes it looks like you burried a pet there. If you are like my friend you buried several friends there.
