Do any of you have something from your childhood..photos of yourself as a baby? Some little treasure you had as a kid and still have?
I have three things..well more actually..do have a lot of photos of me as a baby...I include one here..heheehe--My baby shoe that was bronzed, and yup, believe it or not one of my first toys-- a stuffed kangaroo with a pouch that had a baby kangaroo in it...still have both!
So what keepsake do you have from your childhood?

I have many pictures. Thats one good thing my mom did, she took lots of pictures and made albums for all four of us kids. I also have the little card that was attached to my bassinet in the hospital nursery that told how much I weighed and stuff like that. I still have my dolls and barbie dolls. I had hoped I would have a daughter to give them to but when that didn't happen, I wished for granddaughters and that still didn't happen. But I am still hoping. I would love to pass these dolls on. Oh and I can't forget my "Fluffy". It was a blanket that I had as a young child. My son's father ripped it in half and was using it as an oil rag. I almost killed him for that. But I still have both halves.

I have:
* The detachable "cap" from my white fluffy coat worn at my Christening
* my bikini top worn as a two year old (pretty cool - it's reversible - has two patterns)
* lots and lots of black and white photos taken in Greece as a 1- 3 year old.
* I used to have my cross given to me at my christening (until it was stolen) - it was beautifyl - a filigree, rose-gold design with a ruby in the middle.
Everything else I had as a baby I think my mum gave away to relatives before we moved to Australia (for the first time).

It's a shame you lost that cross...sounded beautiful--have you ever been able to get something similar..wouldn't be the same I realize, but still...

I have a teddy bear that I was given when I was 2 years old by my great grandmother. Yeah it's been restuffed and I've had to repaint his eyes but he's still with me. I think I'll always have him. I call him Stuffy :), hey I named him when I was 2. I used to have a picture of myself when I first got him but I haven't seen that in years.

We were so imaginative weren't we? Oh well we knew that the name itself wasn't important. It's the love attached to it.

I have one photo of myself when I was a couple months old - my grandmother gave it to me a million years ago.
The one item I have from my childhood that I really charish is a Raggedy Ann doll. I don't know how long I've had it but know it was before I was 7 It was the only thing I had from childhood with me when my father kidnapped me.
I also have the bicycle my father and step-mother gave me for my birthday that first year with them - yes, it is really old but put some air in the tires and it's still ridable. Is however only 1 speed - mine :)

Yes, it was horrible but I survived - parents seperated before I was born, divorced when I was 1, saw my father a few time until mother had some problems and couldn't keep me, court awarded me to a great aunt I was very close to, but father came to Michigan from California and took be back with him. We couldn't return to Michigan for several years because there was a warrent out for him.
Only really good thing that came out of it was I had a wonderful step-mother (she's my Mom) and I actually found my great aunt a couple of years ago, just before she passed away.

I have several baby pictures laying around as well. My oldest keepsake would be a stuffed bear that I named Sugar. It has been with me since the day I was born basically. I still have it even though it has lost his nose. I plan on passing it down.

Nothing now, I did however have a old trunk that my uncles mother gave me when I was born, it was covered in leather, and really nice. I had used it for a toy box, when I was little, as a teen I used it for my teen beat mags. Until I had my son I used it for a Stoage area. Then I passed it down to my son who used it as a toy box till recently.
I had keep that trunk it perfect condition for twenty four years. When I left my ex I had taken it to my aunts. I had moved from my aunts in march but left some of my belongs there including the trunk. I figured they would be safe, even though noone was there because the house belonged to my family. Unfortunately last month someone set fire to the house and the trunk along with other valuable non replacable items were lost.

I have a doll I got for Christmas when I was 7. She was a bride doll (in fact I never named her, just called her The Bride Doll) in a beautiful silk and lace gown. Now she is naked, her golden curls a nappy fuzz and she has ink on her face. Three of my granddaughters have played with her and now she is in storage.

That kind of reminds me of my Barbie dolls..got rid of them though years ago, but I bet they'd be worth something now!

I have pictures of myself as a baby. I have a small stuffed teddy bear that I got when I was a baby when I was sick and in the hospital. I also have casts I had to wear as a baby to correct my club feet, and a pair of corrective shoes that were attatched to braces.

Well after having three operations on my feet before I turned 9 years old, I'm happy to say that it was corrected, and I can walk normal. I still have limitations, I can't stand or walk for long periods of time, but other then that and the scars things are good. I keep the items as a reminder of what I've been through. Like the old saying, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I don't see them as negative items, yeah they are associated with painful experiences as a child, but if it wasn't for those items, I wouldn't be walking. I owe who I am today to those casts and corrective shoes, to me they are very special.

How are you now?? Just curious...At first I wondered why you want to keep something that must have been a painful experience for you as a child..but then..maybe to remind you of how you USED to be??and are no longer??

I have some pictures of myself as a baby. I used to have a baby book filled with things like some of my baby hair, my first birthday cards, a picture my brother drew for me, and some other things but someone stole it out of my mom's house.

Since I moved from the UK to the USA I didn't have very much from my childhood. The one thing I do have that I treasure is a solid gold ring that I got one year for my birthday. It has the initial P on it which is the initial of my first name. I treasure this ring because it was made for me by my great uncle who was a goldsmith.

The oldest thing that i have from my childhood is just a broken piece of glass.
But the reason it is there is quite interesting. Actually one day it happened that as i was sitting in my room the wall clock suddenly fell from its hanging and the glass cover over it broke into several pieces.while i was cleaning up the pieces i looked at this one piece which was very interesting as the whole piece has taken up the shape of a well defined Boot. I was really amazed and as a token i have always kept it with me.
Strange but true !

Ah well - I have Larry the Lamb, who was evidently bought in and laid on my pillow the day I was born, by my Mum's cousin. My Mum and her cousin are both gone now, but Larry still remains, despite having lost most of his stuffing! I also have my teady bear Arkasha, who was given to me in my first year of life, and still growls when you press his tummy:-))

LOL! "Kangy Roo" is cute:-)) And sorry to disappoint, but Arkasha isn't really that exotic - it is just the Russian pet form of the name Arkady, which is a very common male name in Russia and Belarussia - so it was just a bit like calling him "teddy" in Russian!!!!
