We had a little children's expo thing here a few weeks ago and the lady there told me about this Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. You go there and sign your UNDER 5 yr old child up and they will receive ONE book FREE every month until they turn 5! My daughter got her first one today and I just signed her up about 3 weeks ago. www.imaginationlibrary.com is the address to go. They just ask for your child's bday, your name and address. You will get your first book in a couple of weeks. This is a great opportunity to help people get their children interested in books. I hope a bunch of you sign up and pass on the word!

It never fails. Everytime I read about something neat, I try to join and it says, "Not available in your area." I tried signing up for the imagination station for my grandaughter and it said, "no affiliate sponser in your area." So sad. My little granddaughter would so love to be a part of this program.

ahhh...i am so sorry. I know I was reading on the website and there are a lot of communities that haven't taken it up yet. I wish she could get it, though. I think it's a wonderful program. I hope it catches on everywhere soon.

This program just started in my area about 6 months ago and I signed my son up for it ASAP. It's very nice! We've gotten 4 or 5 books so far and it's such a nice program! They do a good job of picking age-appropriate books too. I've been very pleased!

Well I don't have a child under 5 but I have a friend that does so I passed the link on to her. Not sure if it's in my area though :( couldn't check that online without registering a child and I wasn't going to do a bogus one. I think this is great though. I don't know if you remember this but there used to be one that came to our school once a month called Reading Is Fundemental (RIF) where we could get books. I haven't seen anything about it though in years. It's about time others picked up where they left off. Getting books out to kids and promoting the love of reading at an early age makes a difference.

That is so great! I don't have any children, but the lady who introduced me to MyLot does, so I'll send her this discussion. I love it when people find out these cool little things that just help kids out in general. Thank you for sharing this!

Thanks for posting this. I did check this out and I spread the word. Hopefully it will put lots of books into the hands of boys and girls and get them to start reading early.
