who lie all the time?? Not about big stuff but just stupid things to get attention? I have this friend that I've been friends with since we were in 5th grade. She is a pathological liar. She always lies about stupid dumb stuff. Like for example she just called me out of the blue. We havent talked in a few weeks. She tells me that she has a kidney infection and that she has to go to the hospital. This may be true its not that out of the question but she lied about ailments before so I dont believe her. Then she tells me she might be getting married next month. To who? A few weeks ago you weren't dating anyone. I think most of her boyfriends are made up cause I never meet any of them. Do you know anyone like this?

Yes I know some people like this. My husbands ex wife is one of them. Some of the things she says is just outrageous! She once told me that she was at the hospital and the doctor tried to make a pass at her. I seriously doubt that, if he were to make a pass at anyone, I am sure it would not be her. She told me that she has a barbie doll that is worth $5,000,000 dollars. Um, ok...then why are you living in a trailer that is dilapidated beyond belief, in a trailer park that should have been condemned years ago? She would be out of a job for months at a time and every week my husband would call his kids and she would say "oh, I have a job interview with such and such company making $14 to $20 an hour" depending on what day it was the salary ranges. She then would say "I will be starting my new job on such and such day, and then we would call her house that day and she would be there and we would ask what happened to the job and she would come up with some dramatic excuse after another as to why she couldn't take the job or how she couldn't get there on time. Still living in the dilapidated trailer with the $5,000,000 barbie doll in her closet. Yeah, I know people like that!

Thanks for the best response comment! I hope you got a chuckle out of that, but it is sad that people live like that. To lie to themselves and to others it is just so sad.

I also have a friend who is a constant liar. She lives across the road, and we have daughters 9 days apart. We knew each other from school before I moved here.
She lies all the time. About her daughter, about herself, family, friends, things on the news. EVERYTHING! She exaggerates about everything too. The story would be "I went to the shop today and brought some milk, when I got home it was already off"
But her story would be "I went to the shops today, I nearly got hit by a guy who was speeding on a unicycle. Then I got some milk and got into a fight with some one eyed circus ring master and then I finally paid $30 for the milk, I got home and it had orange bugs all through it"
I think she does it to make herself look better then everyone else.

I do not have any friends that constantly lie, whether small or big things. I used to have a friend like that but am not friends with him any longer because of his lying and the fact that he was using me for his personal gain. I would not want to be friends with someone who lies constantly. He could not be trusted worth anything. I have known other people who lied constantly as well but they were not friends.

I have one of those. I try not to associate with her much anymore just because she makes my life miserable, not only because she lies about stuff that happens to her or goes on in her life, she makes it a point to lie about me and what goes on in mine. She'll tell people that I'm a horrible person that does absolutely nothing for her, or anyone else and that I try to control her life. So everyone tells her how bad off she has it, and they pity her and they hate me for something that I haven't even done. In most cases, I haven't even heard of these instances that she claims I've engaged in. It's horrible. I just gave up after she moved out (she was my roommate) and try to stay away from her because she creates more drama than I really needs.
