If you get around Northern California way, check out Lake Almanor, located in Plumas County, about 210 miles northeast of Sacramento. Unreal experience. Beautiful campground, great fishing (bass, trout, landlocked salmon), and large populations of deer. Check out the town of Chester which is about a 30 min. drive from Almanor. The Feather River runs right through the middle of the town and is very picturesque and scenic, also large brown and rainbow trout await your line!!!!

I have been camping all of my life. I went on my first camping trip when I was 6 weeks old. To this day, I still love to camp. I prefer tent camping, because it just makes me feel more connected with nature. My parents have an RV and when my husband and I go with them, we still pitch our own tent to sleep in.
I love to camp in the Corp of Engineer campgrounds in Kentucky. Our favorite is the Wax Campground run by the Corp on Nolin Lake in Kentucky. It is really peaceful there and the tent sites are right on the water. They also have RV sites that are located close enough to the lake that you can still see the water.
Another campground we enjoy camping at is Lincoln State Park in Indiana. It is on a little lake that has canoe rentals and such. Also, the hiking trails lead to Abraham Lincoln's mother's grave site and the boyhood home of Lincoln. We enjoy going here because there is just so many things to do in the area. In addition to what is located at the state park, Holiday World is just minutes away, as well.

I've been camping since I was small, and my parents used to take me. We always camped in a tent, and packed everything into a station wagon. We camped in Michigan, Minnesota, Arkansas, and Missouri. Every year there is a big vacation and travel show that comes to Chicago, and my dad would take us there every year, and we would get information on campgrounds and resorts, and my brother and I would help pick out the next place to go.
I want to buy an RV and travel all around the country too. I don't want to sell my house though. It's nice to have a place to come home to. I don't have a favorite campground, but the last time we went camping, we went to Mohican State Park in Ohio. It was a nice campground, and had electric available. It was funny, we camped in a tent, but brought our microwave so we could heat up leftovers and make instant coffee.

I love camping. I first began doing it as a child of about 7 yesrs old with my family. When I was 14 I camped with my friends. I borrowed my dad's tent for this.
I bought my own tent in my early twenties and camped in Australia, near golden sandy beaches or within easy reach of the green rainforest. In the dry areas getting the tent pegs in was a challenge. I stayed on Hinchinbrook Island and had to tie my food between two trees with empty bottles at each end. Otherwise the bush rats would have eaten it all.
When I was 30 bought another tent and camped in New Zealand. Here I found my favourite campsite in the Abel Tasman National Park. It has space for just five tents and a wonderful view of the sea.
Two years ago I was given a bigger tent and I have had some lovely adventures in that. It must be wonderful to live in aN RV. I often dream about buying a small camper van. But I would still bring my tent as well.
