Well, this years eurovision song contest is over. I am surtenly dissapointed becouse Sweden did not end in a god position. But however there was a lot of songs that did not impress me at al.
This winner was Serbiens contribution. The song was OK, So CONGRATULATION TO SERBIEN.

Hej i Sverige, Michael fra Danmark her!
;-)
I agree, the Serbian song was very good but I also think they got a lot of sympathy points as a way of saying "welcome in our club". After all they have been the pariah of Europe for more than a decade.
Denmark gave Sweden 12 points, but I'm sorry to say I didn't vote for you - the song was boring and weird to me. I voted for the opera-rock song, don't remember which country it was.
All in all I think the quality of the songs were very good this year.
There has been a lot of complaints about the Eastern European countries voting for each other's songs and driving all of Western Europe out of the competition.
Especially the UK appears to believe that they get no points simply because they are the UK. Honestly, the songs they have entered with have been very, very, very bad. It's incredible they can't see it themselves.
I think the Eastern European countries are better than us. They enter with established stars and contemporary songs, whereas most of Western Europe enter with new names and songs that seem to mimic the 1980's
We have to start taking the Eurovision Song Contest seriously if we want to get back in the game.

I have to agree with you. But as long the Eastern countries voting for theire own, I´m not shore that it does help us in Western Countries to promote our own best Stars. I mean, Howe is it possible to get so many votes in countries where they do not even afford telephones, TV-Sets and sort of things. That is a question that makes me wonder if there isn´t some cheting going on.

Perhaps it would help if it was broken into quarterfinals, then semifinals and then the final show.
In the world of sports you select by random which group the contestants are going to be a part of and then the winner of each group will be found. The winners are then a part of a new group and so forth until finaly you have the winner of the competition.
If they did it like this it would also be easier to get to know the individual songs - today there are so many countries it's almost a blur.

The european song contest has gone downhill, and us brths really do send in some horrendous acts. Personally i didnt like serbias, a weird joe pasquale looking transvestite doesnt do it for me. Ukraines performance was good though, with theire weird danicng and elton john look alikes.
