I prefer contact lenses, it is more comfortable and then don't get dirty like glasses. I used glasses for many years but I decided to use lenses. I've been using them for years and I think they are better than glasses. Glasses break and get all dirty and you have to be cleaning them all the time. Of course you can also lose contact lenses but you can always put another one. In spite of using lenses you should always have glasses to make your eyes rest. I'm going next week to see if I can get a surgery to stop using glasses or contact lenses. With that surgery I would be seeing perfectly fine so I really hope I can do it. It's a little bit expensive but buying lenses becomes even more after years using them.

i am a bit hesistant in using contact lens because ive read an article that using contact lenses for a long time can cause us to have premature wrinkles around the eyes. i was just wondering, do you have wrinkles around your eyes now? tnx for your answer. :)

No, I don't have any wrinkles and I use contact lenses for about 7 years... I really don't know if that happens but I never heard it.

hello there. well, i really dont know how true that hearsay is but i think its the long time result. but, look at you, you say you have no wrinkles and you have been using it for 7 years already so i guess it doesnt really cause wrinkles. lolz. :)

You said you can't buy both, and that's what I was going to suggest you. As you have to choose only one, I think it's better for you to choose glasses. I wear them (or I SHOULD wear), and I think I look awful. I tried more than 50 different ones, and no-one looks good. It's a big problem to me! But anyway, I don't think I'd do well with contact lens, so I didn't even try. I'll keep my awful looking glasses! :)

I have worn glasses since I was a teen. I had contacts once, I hated them. My eyes would dry out and made it uncomfortable. I lost one for 2 days once then found it attached to the bathroom mirror. I couldn't let my nails grow long. I hated them and have never bought another pair. I accept that I need glasses and choose to wear them over contacts. There are lot's of great frames around these days, so keep looking I am sure you will find a frame that looks good. Other than that I guess that contacts have improved since I was a teen.I don't think either is a better choice but a choice you need to make for yourself and your lifestyle.

I would say whichever you feel more comfortable. I wear glasses and I don't think I would change to contact lens. I tried quite a few brands of the contact lens and they made my eyes way too dry and I was having headache and not feeling comfortable. Also, I don't think anything that touches my eye balls directly, and therefore, I maintain to put on glasses even though it's hot in the summer time *laughs*. I think you should go try some contact lens on and see how it works for you.

I think contact lens are just for pomp and show , be what you are ,, and do remember , it becomes too difficult to manage with it for a longer duration bcoz , it start irritating your eyes.... and you must try it keeping healthy , otherwise coming out of one problem may lead you to another.

I like contacts better then glasses. I have had problems with glasses breaking since childhood. I was so happy to finally wear contacts when I got to be a teenager. So I say contacts.

yeah, i guess ocntact lenses would have to be the better choice for those who tend to break glasses. i am clumsy too and now i am thinking that maybe contact lenses would do me better than glasses. :)

i wear glasses and have always wanted to get contacts simply because i find my glasses very annoying - they always bend easily and now i have to adjust them every now and then - i also always have to push them up because they keep falling down a little bit and sometimes they just feel bad for my eyes when i have a headache. unfortunately i cannot get contacts because i have sensitive eyes and i also have a scar in one of my eyes. Even if i could wear them i wouldn't recommend them because of the hassle - even more than glasses - of using them. You have to buy new ones every few months and you have to take them out when you sleep - you have to be careful not to lose them. I hope in the future there will be some sort of natural treatment where they can reshapen my eyes so that they are circular instead of spherical - that way i can get twenty twenty vision again without having to get laser surgery. but actually, sometimes the how you look will depend on the type of glasses you wear - i have seen plenty of people who look very attractive with glasses - but that is because they have chosen a certain frame type that suits them - a friend of mine got these black frame glasses that looked good on him - but made his other friend look like a full geek.

Eyes are very prestigious part of our body.I used to wear both of them. i think wearing to much of contact lenses will definetly hurt our eyes and overall it is not at all good for eyes to wear them for long so it is required to give rest to our eyes by wearing them alternatively with eye glasses to keep our eyes protective and healthy.

oh, so you are saying that it is much better if i have eyeglasses and contact lens so that i can use them on an alternate basis? well, come to think of it, guess you have a point too. :) thanks!

Why not try buying the disposable contact lenses first? They're cheaper but lasts about a month per pair. It would give you time to gauge whether you feel comfortable wearing them (as well as admire your glasses-free face LOL) and help you decide if you want to keep on wearing them from there on. I used to wear contact lenses before but developed astigmatism and found wearing contacts uncomfortable. So I was advised to switch back to eyeglasses much to my regret. Having contacts is more convenient for me because my face doesn't get irritated and I don't have to push something up the bridge of my nose every now and then. Now I'm dreaming of having LASIK surgery someday. Just got to find enough money to pay for it though :)

hmm, yeah, you have a point there. are disposable contact lenses good to use? maybe i could try them for a while and see if they do good or work for me or not. :) well, thank you for your advice, i really think its a very sensible advice. thanks! :)

I prefer lenses but sometimes when my eyes are tired it is better to put the glasses. When I am at home I wear glasses, and when i go outside I put my lenses.

if you can't buy both, i think it's better for you to buy the glasses first. since you are not allowed to wear your softlens 24hours a day, then there must be a gap of time where you can't see clearly at night when you have to take off yourself which is around 9pm, and no adult sleeps at 9pm ( it's just my assumption :D ). then what will you do? you can't read, watch tv or play computer or everything that needs your eyes to work. unless you can find an activity after 9 that doesn't really need your eyes, i suggest you buying a pair of glasses. Later, you can save some of your money to buy a softlens. Coz, for sure softlens is more more comfortable than glasses. glasses makes things look smaller than their original size, but softlens doesn't. and maybe, if you can save more money, you can let yourself to have eye surgery :D

yeah, maybe i will go for the contact lenses. :) lolz. but, im kinda getting interested on that eye surgery. however, im a big chicken when it comes to pins and needles in the hospital. how about eye laser? what do you think?

24 May 07
um, actually, i sleep at around 9pm, but im 19 years old already. i think im a semi-adult. :P lolz. :) have you had any experience using contact lens? oh, hmm, eye surgery! now thats a little bit expensive right. but after eye surgery, i wont have to wear glasses or contact lens, right?

i've been wearing contact lens for almost 7 years. well, if you said that you slept at 9pm, then maybe you should buy contact lens, it's more comfortable. :D yup, after the eye surgery, your eyes will be back to normal. it's expensive here too, but i'm planning to have the eye surgery in 5-6 years :D

I started wearing my eyeglasses when i was in my fifth grade and when i got to college i started wearing contact lens. I must say that i prefer wearing lenses, it is more comfortable and you won't look like a nerd or something. There are so many advantages of contact lens, unlike glasses there's no need to wipe it off when it rains, you can still see while you're taking a shower. You can do activities, activities that you cant do when you wear eyeglasess and so on and so forth.

helo zamm. you have the same name of my niece who is celebrating her birthday today (may 25). :) anyway, you have a point there. wehn we wear contact lenses, we avoid looking like a nerd. but they are so expensive to maintain thats why im kinda reluctant to buy them.

For me it is much comfortable to use eyeglasses because it will not irritate the eyes because you will not put it directly to your eyes unlike contact lens. In contact lens there are possibility that it might irritate your eyes but i also use both of them, the contact lens and the eyeglasses. Eyeglasses at home and contact lens at work.
