Hello,eskarena,honestly I think you have be very nice to most of the members here,at least i could see your comments when I replied to you. I could see sometimes people could be very rude,in fact,someone had given me some sarcastic criticisms about my discussions,but i did not mind,i just let them go as i thought they had the freedom to do it. Good luck.

I have not noticed any hostility or friction between members in discussions but i am noticing discussions are becoming repetitive and lacking any real conversational or debatable points, and this is something i would like to see returning. I know i dont have as much Mylot experience as yourself Eskarena1 but i thought i would air my opinions, thanks.

Well I can't speak for others but I try not to be rude on here. I don't really know why people are rude on here. I mean, if you don't like what people are saying than you have the option of changing the page, ignoring the discussion etc. So there really is no excuse for being rude especially if they are the ones asking for opinions or responses. On the other hand you would be surprised what little things can make people crabby. Some have mental disorders (me for example and some days I am a nasty one) and some people are just naturally miserable. LOL I have to say though, normally a line like "cheer up, surely things cant be that bad can they" would aggitate me. Now notice I said normally, it didn't at this time because it wasn't directly said to me but in my mind (on most days) things are that bad. lol But I know my problems and I try to remedy them (doctors, medications and my religious beliefs) and I surely do not intentionally try to be rude to someone. Sometimes it comes out that way but for the most part it was a bad choice of words on my part. Mouth tends to run faster than the brain. Thankfully fingers and brain run at about the same speed when I am typing. lol

hahaha i have bi polar disorder, so know exactly what you mean about the crabby moods lol. I try however not to bring my moods and my mental issues on here. It just strikes me as odd that people bring their personality problems here blessed be

I would say that with crabby moods, to share what you're feeling can be beneficial, but when you start "knocking others over the head" with them, you can make things worse. For example there is a difference in saying to somebody, "you've P****d me off" than saying, "what you have said has upset me. Can you explain please?". We used this type of communication in my eoncounter groups, that way each participant was taking responsibility for their upsets and moods and not allocating cause to someone/something else outside themselves. It worked very well and "exorcised" a lot of negative emotion.

As someone who has been here for 7 months I have seen a lot of changes with this site, and find all sorts of people on here all of the time. If you are like me, you just learn to weed people out, and answer the ones of your True friends who you can respect the most. Some days it is hard to find a Good discussion to respond too, but if you look around and maybe check out your interests, etc. things are better.
@ESKARENA1 (18261)

yes you are of course right. However i have noticed a distinct hardenibng of attitude. Now, i dont know if its just a new influx of people or if there is a generalised change blessed be

I don't know. In the last month I didn't spend too much time here in MyLot so probably I didn't read too much to note that. Maybe it can sounds a bit stupid or elementary but I think that it is happening in the life so if Internet and MyLot are part of the dily life also here people is becoming very rude.

I have been fortunate, and not run into the rude ones lately. I know that does not mean I will not. I think it is easy to take things rudely, because we do not have the tone of voice to soften the words. I will try to be cheery friend. See you around the lot.

i hope you dont run in to them, they are unmistakable when you do. Can we please have our site back? blessed be

I feel that there are a few people who seem to bring their bad manners here and cause a lot of ill feeling. Certainly there are some rude people around at the moment, hopefully it will revert back to the site I first joined soon

Personally I didn't notice any increase in rudeness towards certain mylotters. I guess when it comes to certain topics that are close to one's heart, some people may feel very strongly about their views and the way they put across their views may seem to some as really rude and aggressive. Also, there are problems with written words. We don't see the other person's face or reactions. Sometimes, then certain things we write can come across as being rude even though the person who wrote it may never had such an intention at all.
@ESKARENA1 (18261)

maybe its the topics that are bringing the worst out of them, im not sure, but it is quite distinctive

My answer would be an emphatic YES! I was recently a victim myself of this trend. I postyed a thread about single parents paying child support. Now, i wasn't aposed to opinions that differed from mine at all. How ever, this wonman out right insulted me and made comments that were hurtful, VERY hurtful. So much in fact that I had to walk away from the computer a bit. It litteraly brought tears. I am not usualy that sensative but she said things like I didnt deserve my son and that I was heartless. She doesn't know me, or my relationship with my kids or anything. These weren't just apposing opinions. They were hatefull and personal attacks.

as i said above, people do bring their mental health issues on here and display their illness for all to see. How many times have i been asked if im mad on here simply because my point of view differed from the poster? lol well it has happened a few times blessed be

Well I am a novice here, I have yet to experience this here on myLot. So far I am having, happy, healthy discussions, infact learning and trynna figure out things. But Its really sad to hear from you that it has been happening here. If so, Imma be very disappointed. Why would one be rude to someone. We all are here to have healthy discussions and in the mean time we earn also. Why would somebody try to spoil, ruin others' mood. Beats me, I really do not get it. Happy discussions Eskarena1

For me, I haven't noticed more rudeness than normal. But, I know with me, I've felt like giving a couple of people a piece of my mind, but didn't. For example, there was someone who responded to a discussion of mine that disagreed with me, which is OK, but today, I felt like telling them what I really think about their answer. But, I didn't and I don't plan to. Just because they disagree with me doesn't mean I have to be rude to them.

Fortunately for me, I haven't been having all that many rude comments on my MyLot posts lately. I'm sorry that you have. I guess I might just not be paying close enough attention to notice it. But keep in mind it is the internet and sometimes people just want to make other people miserable because they are miserable themselves. Just hit them back up with some kindness, maybe you'll help to cheer them up a bit! :)
