I had seen people learning Crazy English in the tv news. Learners are encouraged to by heart sentences and Shout out then. Few years ago when I visited China I found books and CD of Crazy English in the book store so I bought one. I think learning English by reciting thousand of sentences is a bit difficult. If reciting poem ok lol. From the list in the last page of the book I found many learners were from different foreign countries. Of course I never participate the Crazy English Course.

Yes. I know Crazy English and I have read several sets of books and listened to their attached tapes. I think it very useful in China where it is nearly impossibe for students to communicate much, and the traditional methord is to learn grammar and recite a lot of English words, and then to translate sentences according to the grammatical rules. Many people learn English all life but fail to learn a single sentence. Li Yang's Crazy English is an improvement. It makes learning easire and interesting.

This sounds quite bizarre the way you have explained this. Is it a way for people to learn English really quickly, I can just imagine loads of people talking English really loudly, it must sound very funny and also quite annoying I guess. Thanks for the insight.

This is the first I ever heard about CRAZY ENGLISH. But it is interesting to note that so many people are interested to learn quickly and fluently. Since English is the universal language for international interactions - it is beneficial to be fluent in it. How about you? Do you engage in CRAZY ENGLISH?
• China
21 May 07
thank you for replying. no , i don't engage the crazy english. because i don't think the way liyang mention is fit for me to learn english well. thank you very much.

Someone might have discovered a successful method of teaching and learning English. It might be possible to implement it to all non English speaking country. I feel the best way to learn English is through the cartoon on Tv. My nephew who is 9 years old liked to watch English cartoon. Now he somehow caught the English accent when he speaks English.

Hello, laiyongjun. I know that but I'm not its numbers. I think for most Chinese students, courage and confidence is necessary for them learning English. In my opinion, crazy english is just an education form. The most important is yourself. The more practices, the better your English will be. ^_^

I never heard of such a method , It seems a bit radical... I learned English from tv alone as I learned French and Russian in school and I only met English in highschool. But I already knew English from tv...

Well, I can't really say I know Russian... I only studied this language for 3 years (and in the first year all we did is learn the alphabet..). The truth is I know more of other languages I never studied at school (like Spanish or Italian) than I do Russian...

thank you for replying. different people have different purposes to learn english. in my opinion, i think the best way to learn english is reading and to learn english country's culture and so on.nor just in order to pass the cet-4 and cet-6, english is just a tool to communicate with foreigners, to learn english culture, to make foreigner friends,to improve our knowledge and so on.hehe. this is my opinion. thank you very much.

I know that in Asia English is very different and for many Asian people it`s difficult to study it. I am not sure what the CRAZY ENGLISH is. I just think that it`s better for them to exercise normal English and to improve their knowledges, because the pronounce and the language skills need a lot of practise without so many contortions.

i think many people from China know crazy english.i am one of them.i know Liyang, and he is famous in China,he created this way of learning english, and proved efficiently. his goal is 'speak out loudly and don't afraid of losing face'.well,i hope i can do that, but sometimes i am just shy about speaking english lol.by the way, liyang's trainning camp is a bit expensive for me,6000 or more,i think i need to earn enough money to take part in.

Pardon me, i don't get what you mean by crazy english. But i think you were trying to tell the student were getting crazy in studying english. Well if that is the case, these students were aggressive to learn english that fast and that is an advantage. Nowadays, many multinational companies in china were requiring English speaking ability for the job. I think that is one of the reason why these students were very eager to learn that fast. The method of these students were great as they will not be shy to speak foreign language soon and feel speaking comfortably even to foreigners.

Of course I know. I have some friends who are sincere readers of crazy english. To some extents, crazy english is useful. But the most important thing is that you should have perseverance.I also recommond crazy english to people who wanna improve oral english. In my opinion, the best way is to make friends with native english speakers. It not only improve our english, but also enlarge our knowledge, we could know the foreign culture better.Language is for communication, so more and more practice is necessary. It is not easy for us non-english speakers to form western thinking, but I still believe "practice makes perfect" If we could communicate with people in English fluently, that is enough.

I agree with you. To some extents, crazy english is useful. I think the most important for those who wanna improve their English is the courage and confidence to speak it out. Don't worry about making mistakes. Only when we know it's a mistake, we can correct it earlier. Just like you said, we should have the ability to communicate with others in English.

Yes,confidence and courage is important for us to learn one language. When we have confidence,we have the courage at the same time, so confidence and action will be more better for those english lovers. Right? :) By the way,do you know "New Oriental" in China? Those who wanna improve english will go for there to get professional training. It is such kind of training class, also very famous in China.

I'm new to such methods and I think it's great such methods are employed in China ! It's a great way to learn a language !! I wish we had them too here in India. I mostly watch movies and TV shows to enhance my English. Apart from that, I'm in the habit to talk to myself and I think that is a good way to learn any language too. :)
