At Pancake House, I often find myself salivating (exaggeration, of course) over a delicious waffle covered with richly flavored white butter and honey-smelling syrup with fresh peaches on top.
To my recollection, I feel like I've already visited almost all the Pancake House branches here in my country and, mind you, its not that few.
Apart from its enticing waffles and pancakes, it offers a wide array of food choices.
Their soft rib eye and tenderloin steak never fail to satisfy my seemingly insatiable appetite. Their meat ball sauce-drenched spaghetti likewise consistently fulfill my lingering hunger. The pork chops they offer is similarly excellent.
For dessert, I love to order their endorphin-inducing banana split (of course, the chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla ice cream scoops only heighten the pleasurable experience); it's simply absolute heaven! If my appetite seems to be looking for another dessert, I order the equally delicious brownies with ice cream on top.
What about you? What's the restaurant that you frequently visit? What do you often order there?

Wow, I never realized the other dishes at Pancake House are as sumptuous as you described it. You made me really hungry for a moment there! :) I've been there only twice. The last one was when I was pregnant and craving for something really rich. Boy, was I satisfied then. Now that you mentioned it, I'm taking a trip to one of their stores one of these days and try the soft rib eye and tenderloin steak. Anyways, me and my family always frequent North Park. I love almost all of their dishes. Garlic Squid, Beef with Broccoli, King Dao spare ribs, Chow Mien noodles, and the list goes on. I hope you get the idea, as my stomach is grumbling now lol :D

Bangalore city is known for gourmet restaurants each offering something special and there are a lots of people who have made it a habit to eat out almost every day. I get a feeling housewives are beginning to forget about cooking. I hate eating at restaurants for it does not agree with my stomach. I always prefer home food. Even when I was going out for job, I used to carry a lunch box. Now I am in business and the house is closerby, so that I home for lunch.

I can only name them but I cannot explain the ingredients used for preparation because it is my wife's department:
Breakfast dishes: IDLI (rice items) + sambar (liquid, with spices and chilli powder)+ Vadai (it is a friend stuff out of urd dal.
2. Uppama : made out of Soji
3. Kesari Bath : A sweet dish made out of soji, clove, cashewnuts, pineapple, sugar and soji are used to prepare, easy to prepare.
4. Lunch - there are varieties: Rice being staple food, it is the main item. Then there is 3 or side dishes like vegetables, curry, Sambar or rasam (as explained above), curds, pickles, papads (condiments).
There is south Indian meals (rice based) and North Indian meals (Wheat based).

That's really good to know, ssh123.
If I were to ask, however, what's your favorite home-made meal or "home food," as you aptly put it?
Thanks a lot for participating in this discussion and Happy myLotting! ;)

This is a tough question because I can type a whole novel on all the places that I like to eat. LOL. I love most places that serve seafood. Red Lobster's is one of my FAVORITE restaurants. I usually order the ultimate feast and I have a grand old time eating my lobster tail, crabs legs and shrimp. I also love Carraba's. I went there for the first time in December and i'm addicted. They make the BEST Chicken Marsala. mmmmmm. IHOP is another one of my favorites. I usually like to order the Big Breakfast and I will ask for fresh strawberry and banana on my pancakes. It's delicious! Ok, I will stop now because this discussion is making me hungry.

Like you, I'm a seafood enthusiast myself. But like you again, I equally love chicken, especially if it's from Chicken for the Road (a fast food here in the Phil.).
Good thing you stopped, though, since with the way you described the dishes you enjoy eating, I might have eaten my laptop. ;)

I rarely eat/dine at restaurants because usually we do not have the money or cannot afford to spend on them. My wife and I are content with Chowking, Jolibee, Mc Donalds, KFC or Paotsin. Now that we have a baby and the salary standard here in the Philippines is not improving, our visit to these fastfood chains diminished.

I perfectly understand where you're coming from, phon4u.
Nevertheless, if I may ask, what do you usually order when you visit the restaurant near the market? Wher, by the way, is this particular market located?
Thanks a lot in advance for responding to my questions and Happy myLotting! ;)

It has to be the Olive Garden. I love pasta and Italian, but I have not been there that many times, since it is usually crowded and my daughter-in-law loves Thai food and there is a Thai restaurant near where her parents live. I hope to try every pasta dish in the Olive Garden. I had one, a seafood pasta, linguine with shrimp, dripping with sauce, and their salad with those yellow hot peppers and that dressing is delicious.
And the way, they grate the cheese over, not like the shakers you have at home, but real Parmesan cheese! Delicious!

Pastas are undoubtedly hearty meals, suspenseful.
Your post alone is already making me truly hungry, to be honest.
I really hope, though, that I could visit Olive Garden someday so that I could have a mouthful of their delicious offerings.

Wow, I must admit that your post alone is making my stomach tingle in sensational anticipation.
Pizza Hut, I must agree, is lovable, especially with its ever widening variety of food offerings, which are all satisfying, to say the least. Would it be a correct guess that you often avail of their "Hate Late?" delivery, whenever you're craving for delicious pizza?
De Paulo seems to be a great place to visit one of these days, considering the "great variants of chicken dishes and their variation of steak ala pobre," which are all pretty inviting. If I may ask, though, djmarion, exactly where is this great place located?
Thanks a lot for your nice sharing and Happy myLotting! ;)

Ponderosa, I often go there. All you can eat buffet usually has chicken, soup, some seafood, lots of salad stuff, fruit, yogurt, deserts. Love it! Sometimes I order fish, too. The ice cream and the blueberry buckle are my favorites. Fun topic, thanks.

When I was still in Chicago, I used to go there, too, if I'm not mistaken, and I actually find their food very good. I usually leave their place very much stuffed, to be frank.

I prefer David's Tea house, they serve chinese foods. Food really taste good and price is very affordable. the service crew are friendly. And most of all, the place is clean :) However when it comes to fastfood, my choice would be McDonalds. Their frenc fries are yummy and serves always hot.

Even if I really love Chinese foods, to be honest, I haven't tried David's Tea House yet.
Is it comparable to, say, Superbowl of China, Hap Chan, North Park, Chubby China, Wai Ying, or Emerald? What do you normally order there and what, to your mind, is their bestseller?
McDonald's, to be sure, could easily be anyone's favorite and their French fries is indeed yummy.
If you haven't watched Supersize Me yet, though, I suggest that you do so that you could be made aware of the potential perils of eating from fast foods, specifically McDonald's.
Thanks for your insightful post and Happy myLotting, ggaaiill! ;)

When I go for malling with family, relatives or friends I normally eat in those restaurant that I haven't visited yet. Yes, I do restaurant hopping. I want to get the taste of every restaurant in town. But there are those that I frequented if no new restaurant is available. Those are the kinds of restaurant that aside from good ambiance, good service, affordable foods, are the taste of foods are really great.

I guess my all-around favorite is The Outback Steakhouse. They have really good steaks, and the margaritas are to die for!!! Of course a local little place here has the best margartas, and the food's ok - The Mexican Cafe. I'm going there tonight with a friend.

The town where I live in the UK has some really good restuarants of all types, but my favourites are an Italian resturant - which does delicious, home cooked Italian pizza, - and an Indian resturant - which makes lovely curries.

I really like eating Chinese and Japanese foods. I used to go to Chinese and Japanese restaurants with my father when I was young and I really miss that! I've been busy with work and he's been the same with his work too that we don't have time to go out and eat to our fave restaurants. There is this Japanese restaurant that I really like, Tokyo Tokyo. I used to work there as food servants and I did enjoyed it. I like eating yakisoba, that's my fave! Also teriyaki, beef misuno, tonkatsu and many more. The food are all yummy!!! I always eat there with my friends and hopefully I can bring there my father with me. I know he'll also love the food that I always crave for!

Tokyo Tokyo is surely a very likable Japanese restaurant and a truly delightful treat.
I also enjoy eating there, not only because of the mouth-watering food they offer, but also because of the great service they have.
I could only hope that you would be able to dine out with your father and visit the fine restaurants you used to visit very soon.
Thanks a lot for your substantial post, Angieline!

Acmepride, I've got no other choice. If it's not Jollibee, it's McDonald's. It's because I'm with my family. But slowly, we're training them to eat at other restaurants like Pizza Hut, Shakey's, Greenwich, Chowking, Wendy's and Yellow Cab. We'll introduce them to Kenny Roger's, Pancake House, Maxim's Tea House and other restaurants later.

Jollibee and McDonald's are absolutely great fast food houses. However, when you dine in such, be wary of the food you're eating, especially since, if I'm not mistaken, some of its (McDonald's, at least) products are high in cholesterol and MSG.
For more info, though, try to watch Supersize Me, if you haven't had the chance to view it yet.
All the other dining places you've mentioned certainly offer good food as well.
Thanks a lot for your usual significant contribution, erick!
