I don't think they even would do that here, even if the parents agree you still have to be older than 12 I believe for anything else than your ears to be pierced.

Psychodude, I think you are correct. I wouldn't even want it any other way.

forgetting the pain isnt a factor for me...I wouldnt get it done for that reason..the only way my kids will be getting any piercings done before they are adults is if they still want to when they are old enough and if the place they go to is certified, and has a high positive reputation.....I've talked with my kids about them getting both tats and piercings and when they are 15 or so if they still want to and have seriously weighed the pros/cons and reasons WHY they want it done and so long as the reasons are still good ones like they are now then I'm all for it..

No way, thise tings are personal choices that kids should make for themselves and traditionally beg to be allowed to do for some time before permission is granted or rebellion reigns.

No way. I don't have any children yet, but if I did I think I would probably make them wait until they were 16 before I'd let them get anything other than their ears pierced. I think that it isn't even legal here and I know that you aren't allowed to have anything other piercings with jewelry in them other than your ears at the local schools.

Nope, same reasons as not believing in routine infant circumcision-child's body, child's choice ;)

No. I don't think the fact they are young means they're any less likly to remember the pain. Also, i think with piercings that a person should be old enough to decide for themselves whether they want them done or not, i don't agree with parents getting even their childs ears pierced when the child is too young to know whether they want it done.

I'm a firm believer that Body Mods (modifications) are for the informed decision of the body's inhabitant. But that's me.

Definitely not. I wouldn't even have their ears pierced, I think it's a horrible practice and I often feel that I'm one of the few people around who actually thinks earings on babies and infants look horrible. I'd leave it to my child to decide whether or not they want anything pierced.

personally no I wouldnt but I know alot of parents do get there baby girls ears done. mainly I think just so no one mistakes the baby for a boy. Me and my X argued abotu my teenage daughter the other night, my son lives with me and my daughter with her. She wants to get her nose and eyebrow done but her mom says no, but on the other hand her mom let her get a tattoo at the age of 13. I was like what is the matter with you she can take out the eyebrow or nose ring you cant take off a tattoo. GRRRRRRR......

I am having a problem wondering why on earth someone would do such a thing to a child. Sure, moms have the ears of their little girls pierced when they are small all the time. This is something like a rite of passage. I would never have any other portion of a child's anatomy pierced. My reason is that this decision should be made by them when they are old enough.

well my point is, that I think ears should be their descision too. I don't think anyone should have a body modification given until they are old enough to give informed consent.

Nope. Piercings, in my opinion, are the child's choice. I won't decide for them whether or not they should have piercings. Although I'm sure the piercing would be able to close up eventually if there wasn't any metal in it, I'll just wait for my kids to decide on their own if they want it.

I would only take my daughter to get her ears pierced...other than that she has to be older to get her eyebrow and nose pierced. Also if you dont want them to remember the pain you have to do it when there younger and i dont know anyone in there right mind that would let there little kid get there nose pierced or an eyebrow pierced.
